Taylor won Big Brother 24, beating Monte 8-1 in the jury vote, and then won America’s Favourite on the same night — the first houseguest ever to take both in the same season. Turner finished third. The season is remembered for a house split in two and for the alliance that ran it.

Who won Big Brother 24?
Taylor won Big Brother 24, beating Monte by a jury vote of 8-1 on 25 September 2022. Turner cast the only vote for Monte. Brittany, Alyssa, Michael, Terrance, Kyle, Joseph, Jasmine and Indy all voted for Taylor.
It is one of the most complete turnarounds the show has produced. Taylor was nominated in week one as a replacement, nominated again in week two, and nominated again in week four. She spent the first month of the season as the house’s default target and the first month of the feeds as the person everyone had decided they did not like. She was still there at the end, and the jury she faced was made up almost entirely of people who had wanted her out.
The turn came on 11 August, on the wall. Taylor outlasted the house on the endurance competition and took the Head of Household — her first win of any kind, in week six. Her reaction on the feeds was not about the game at all.
Taylor, 7:41pm, straight off the wall
“I get a letter from my mom!”
She won a second Head of Household at the final five, put Brittany and Turner on the block, and reached the final two on Monte’s decision at the final three. Monte won the last Head of Household 7/8 to Turner’s 5/8, sat and thought about it, and took Taylor.
Then he lost to her 8-1. Turner, who had been on the jury for three days, was the only person who voted the other way.
Taylor also won America’s Favourite the same night. Michael and Kyle were the other two in the top three. No houseguest before her had ever won the season and the audience vote together in a regular season — the two prizes had always gone to different people.
Who was in the Big Brother 24 cast?
Sixteen houseguests, all new. In finishing order:
- 1st — Taylor. Nominated four times in the first half of the season and never evicted. Won the wall, won at the final five, won the game 8-1 and won America’s Favourite.
- 2nd — Monte. Won the final Head of Household and chose to sit beside the most popular player in the house.
- 3rd — Turner. Evicted by Monte at the final three, then cast the only vote for him.
- 4th — Brittany. Michael’s Festie Bestie, co-winner of two vetoes with him, and out at the final four on Monte’s sole vote.
- 5th — Alyssa. Evicted on a tie the Head of Household had to break.
- 6th — Michael. Six vetoes and nine competition wins. The best competitive season anyone had played to that point, and it ended in a double eviction.
- 7th — Terrance. Head of Household of Dyre Fest, and the first person out of the double.
- 8th — Kyle. Evicted 5-0 in week eight after the alliance turned on him.
- 9th — Joseph. Evicted 2-0 in the backyard at Dyre Fest, with four people voting and no idea what was happening inside.
- 10th — Jasmine. Evicted 2-0 inside the house on the same night, with no idea what was happening in the backyard.
- 11th — Indy. Evicted 7-1, the first juror.
- 12th — Daniel. The first Head of Household of the season, evicted 8-1 and the last houseguest out before jury.
- 13th — Nicole. Evicted 9-1 in week four.
- 14th — Ameerah. Blindsided 7-4 in week three, the closest vote of the season.
- 15th — Pooch. The Backstage Boss on night one, evicted 12-0 two weeks later.
- 16th — Paloma. Left the game on 13 July. No eviction vote was held.
Pooch and Joseph are two different people
This is the single most common Big Brother 24 mix-up, and it exists because both men were called Joe.
- Pooch was the Backstage Boss on premiere night and was evicted 12-0 on 21 July, in week two. He finished 15th.
- Joseph was a late addition to the cast, joined the Leftovers, and was evicted 2-0 at Dyre Fest on 25 August. He finished 9th.
- Marvin was announced as a houseguest and then cut before the premiere. Joseph replaced him. Marvin never entered the house and has no placement in the season.
If a source says “Joe was evicted,” it needs a date attached before it means anything.
Paloma’s exit
Paloma left the house on 13 July, a week into the season. The houseguests were told only that “due to a personal matter Paloma will no longer be continuing in the Big Brother Game,” and nothing further was ever said on the broadcast or on the feeds.
Because she left mid-week, there was no eviction at all that week. Taylor and Terrance were on the block and both stayed. Paloma is counted 16th by finishing order, but she was never voted out, and any list that gives her an eviction vote is wrong.
What was the BB Motel?
The Big Brother 24 house was built as a roadside motel — neon, terrazzo, hard mid-century colour, and a check-in desk in place of the usual entry. Julie described it before the doors opened as “this very Palm Springs, mid-century Palm Springs feel — neon lights,” and gave it the tagline the season ran on: “you can check in, but you can’t check out.”
The motel was not just decoration. It carried the BB Fest theme, which ran a different festival through the house nearly every week — a music fest, a comedy fest, a renaissance fest, a horror fest and the Zing Fest among them. Competition names came out of it all season, from “Ren Fest” in week one to “Horror Fest Lockdown” at the final five, and the week-seven split was staged as two rival festivals. What were the Big Brother 24 twists?
Three, and they arrived in order — one at the start, one through the middle, one that broke the season open in week seven.
- The Backstage Boss and America’s Vote. On premiere night the houseguests drew BB Fest tickets rather than playing a straight Head of Household. Pooch drew Backstage Boss, which put him out of competitions and out of the vote but made him unnominatable — and let him pick three others to go backstage with him. He chose Paloma, Alyssa and Brittany, and those three got the restrictions without the safety. America then voted to save one of them. Brittany won that vote, and it never mattered: Paloma left before the eviction, the eviction was cancelled, the backstage battle never happened, and the result was never revealed to the house.
- Festie Besties. From week three the house played in pairs and trios. A nomination hit the whole group, a veto win covered the whole group, and an eviction only removed one of them. It produced the season’s oddest results — Brittany and Michael winning two vetoes together as a unit, and Taylor surviving a week four nomination because her Besties had won the previous Head of Household. It ended at the week five eviction.
- The split house. In week seven the house was cut in two and two entirely separate games of Big Brother were played at the same time. Full detail below.
Big BroChella and Dyre Fest
Michael and Terrance finished first and second in a competition, and that made them Head of Household of two different houses. They then picked teams schoolyard-style, alternating, until each had four people.
Big BroChella stayed inside: Michael, Brittany, Jasmine, Monte and Taylor. Dyre Fest was sent to the backyard: Terrance, Alyssa, Joseph, Kyle and Turner. The two groups had no contact for the whole week. They did not see each other’s nominations, competitions or ceremonies.
Each side ran the full sequence — Head of Household, two nominations, a veto, an eviction — with five people. Inside, Michael nominated Jasmine and Monte, Brittany won the veto and left the block alone, and Jasmine was evicted 2-0. Outside, Terrance nominated Joseph and Turner, won the veto himself, pulled Turner down and put Kyle up, and Joseph was evicted 2-0.
Neither evictee got to say goodbye to the other half of the house. Both walked out on 25 August without ever finding out what had happened on the other side.
Who were the Leftovers?
The Leftovers formed in week three and are the reason the rest of the season looks the way it does. Seven people: Joseph, Michael, Kyle, Taylor, Brittany, Monte and Turner. The premise was that all seven had been picked over, left out or left last by the groups that formed in the first fortnight, so they built one out of the offcuts.
They took control immediately. Ameerah went out 7-4 in the first week they operated, and the alliance never lost the house after that. All seven Leftovers reached the final nine. Nobody outside the alliance won a competition that changed anything from week three onwards.
What broke it was not an outside attack. It was the alliance running out of anyone else to evict, and then turning on Kyle in week eight.
Who won each HOH, veto and eviction in Big Brother 24?
Eleven weeks and a finale. Week one produced no eviction, and week nine produced two.

BB Fest tickets instead of an opening competition. Pooch drew Backstage Boss and took Paloma, Alyssa and Brittany backstage with him.
Daniel, in Drumming for Power. Nominated Michael and Terrance.
Michael won the Ren Fest veto and used it on himself. Daniel put Taylor up.
Cancelled. Paloma left the game on 13 July, the eviction was called off and the backstage battle never took place. Brittany had won America’s vote; nobody in the house was told.
Week 2 · Pooch evicted 12-014–21 July
Jasmine, in The BB Pie Fest — won on a rolled ankle. Nominated Pooch and Taylor.
Michael won Mermaid Fest. Not used.
Pooch, 12-0 — unanimous, and he had asked for it. Not Joseph.
Week 3 · Ameerah evicted 7-421–28 July · Festie Besties begin
Turner, in Get Lit. Under Festie Bestie rules he nominated the Brittany–Michael pair.
Brittany and Michael won Woodstack together and used it on themselves. Ameerah and Terrance went up as a pair.
Ameerah, 7-4 — the Leftovers’ first move, and the closest vote of the season.
Week 4 · Nicole evicted 9-128 July – 4 August
Monte, in The Invitation. Alyssa and Indy ended up the live nominees; Taylor was covered by her Besties’ previous win.
Daniel and Kyle won Trippy Watch Party together. Daniel used it over Kyle’s objection, saving Alyssa and Indy.

Week 5 · Daniel evicted 8-14–11 August · last pre-jury eviction
Michael won Mind Your Step in 11.79 seconds. Kyle finished in 11.80 — one hundredth of a second, and it decided the week. Michael nominated the Joseph–Monte–Terrance trio.
Brittany and Michael won OTEV the Singing Stageroach together and took all three off. Daniel and Kyle went up.
Daniel, 8-1. Terrance cast the only vote to evict Kyle. Last houseguest out before jury, and the end of Festie Besties.
Week 6 · Indy evicted 7-111–18 August · the wall
Taylor won Conspiracy Fest, the season’s wall, on the night of the week five eviction. Her first win, after four nominations. Nominated Indy and Terrance.
Kyle won Punkaroo. Not used.
Indy, 7-1 — the first juror. Michael cast the only vote the other way.
Week 7 · Jasmine 2-0, then Joseph 2-018–25 August · split house
Two separate games, played simultaneously, with no contact between them. Both evictions happened on 25 August.
Michael and Terrance finished one-two in Do You See the VIP? and became Head of Household of a house each, then picked teams alternately.
Inside: Michael, Brittany, Jasmine, Monte, Taylor. Michael nominated Jasmine and Monte. Brittany won One, Two, Three, VIP and did not use it. Jasmine evicted 2-0.
Backyard: Terrance, Alyssa, Joseph, Kyle, Turner. Terrance nominated Joseph and Turner, won Lunch Is Served, saved Turner and put Kyle up. Joseph evicted 2-0.
Week 8 · Kyle evicted 5-025 August – 1 September
Turner. Nominated Brittany and Taylor.
Michael won it — his fifth — and used it on Brittany. Turner put Kyle up.
Kyle, 5-0. The Leftovers turned on one of their own for the first time.
Week 9 · Terrance 4-0, then Michael 3-01–8 September · double eviction
Michael won Burning Bot and nominated Alyssa and Terrance. He then won BB Comics as well — his sixth veto, a record at the time — and left the block alone. Terrance evicted 4-0.
Turner won Laser Focus and nominated Alyssa and Brittany. Monte won Amp It Up and used it on Alyssa. Turner named Michael as the replacement.
Michael, 3-0 — the best competitor in the house, gone inside twenty minutes of the double eviction starting.
Week 10 · Alyssa evicted on a tiebreak8–15 September · final five
Monte, in Horror Fest Lockdown. Nominated Alyssa and Brittany.
Brittany won Snooze Fest and used it on herself. Monte put Taylor up.
Brittany voted to evict Taylor. Turner voted to evict Alyssa. 1-1 — and Monte, as Head of Household, broke the tie against Alyssa. The count is usually written 2-1.
Week 11 · Brittany evicted 1-015–22 September · final four
Taylor, in Fashion Fest — her second. Nominated Brittany and Turner.
Monte won Mathletes and did not use it, which left him the only vote.

Finale · Taylor wins 8-122–25 September · Day 82
Turner won it, on 22 September.
Monte beat Taylor. She put the margin at about twenty seconds.
Monte beat Turner, 7 out of 8 to 5 out of 8, and became the final Head of Household.
Monte evicted Turner and took Taylor to the final two.
Taylor 8, Monte 1. Turner was the only vote for Monte. Taylor then won America’s Favourite as well, ahead of Michael and Kyle.
What is Big Brother 24 remembered for?
The winner nobody saw coming in July. Taylor spent the first month as the house’s punchline and its default nomination, and finished with the game, the audience vote and the widest jury margin the show had produced in years. There is no comparable arc in the modern era — not a floater’s win, but a genuine reversal of how an entire cast had decided to treat someone.
Michael’s competition season. Six vetoes and nine wins overall, in a season where the veto decided almost every week. The six vetoes was a record when he set it — the previous mark was five, held four ways — and it stood until Jag took seven the following year. His nine total wins tied Janelle’s Big Brother 7 mark without breaking it. He was evicted 3-0 in the back half of a double eviction, which is the only way anyone was ever going to get him out.
The week the house became two houses. Big BroChella and Dyre Fest is still the most structurally ambitious week the show has attempted. Two Heads of Household, two nomination ceremonies, two vetoes and two evictions, run in parallel with neither group knowing anything about the other. It cost the Leftovers Joseph, and it is the twist BB24 gets cited for.
The Kyle fallout
The season’s biggest story off the game board started in the back half of August, when Kyle pushed a plan to split the house along racial lines. Michael’s account of it on the feeds — that Kyle had “essentially pitched to me an all-white alliance” — is what put it in front of the audience, and it dominated the feeds for a fortnight.
Michael and Brittany sat on what they knew for roughly two weeks before telling the house, which became its own argument once it came out. Terrance’s objection was that the delay had lumped everyone together. Taylor’s was sharper: if the information was held that long, what did holding it say about what people were prepared to let happen?
It ended Kyle’s game. He was evicted 5-0 on 1 September, the first Leftover to go, and he addressed it directly at the finale. It also produced the feed blackout of 21 August, when the feeds went down for fourteen hours, came back, and were then cut again for the rest of the day and night. No reason was ever given.

- First Black woman to win the numbered US series — Taylor. Tamar had won Celebrity Big Brother 2 in 2019.
