Three Big Brother houseguests shown in a split image with a VS graphic, suggesting a rivalry or competition between them

Big Brother 28 Week 1 eviction results

Summary of the week: Week 1 turned into a genuine pressure cooker. Dee opened as Head of Household with Mallory, Taylor, and Yash on the block, but once Mallory won the Power of Veto and saved herself, the vets’ inner circle — Dee, Barrett, and Drew — huddled late into the night and landed on Ashley as the renom, calling her “easy to put up” even as Dee fretted that such a non-player might slip all the way to the end. From there the week became a war of misdirection: Jason quietly ran an anti-vet campaign and coached houseguests to paint Haley as jealous and suspicious, hoping to swing the whole house onto her, while Rome’s “Mama’s Angels” pushed to blindside Haley from the other direction.

The Rome/Lyric showmance escalated fast Rome lecturing Lyric to drop the “weak loser shit” and promising to go to war for her even as Lyric admitted the spotlight was painting a target on her back. Behind it all, Dee, Drew, and the returning vets tightened their grip on the house, coaching Ashley to “stir the pot” and manufacture paranoia. It backfired spectacularly: Ashley took the advice too far, started naming names to the wrong people, and blew up her own game turning herself from a quiet floater into the consensus target, drawing a sharp scolding from Haley and sending the vets into damage control right up to tonight’s live eviction and Blockbuster twist.

The BB Time Capsule is Season 28’s big fan-voted twist, tied into the show’s time-travel theme and the new every-other-Friday Big Brother: Unlocked episodes. Here’s how it works: each week from Week 2 through Week 7, America votes at cbs.com/bbvote to send one houseguest into the Time Capsule. That houseguest then plays a fast-paced competition for a chance at a game-changing power pulled from Big Brother history — but it’s a gamble, because failing means getting hit with an iconic punishment from the show’s past instead (think unitard, tethered to another houseguest, or a grinding backyard task). There are six powers and six punishments in the pool across the season. The catch that makes the voting strategic: once a houseguest has been sent into the Capsule, they’re locked out for the rest of the twist whether they walked away with a power or a punishment — so timing your vote matters. The first round of voting opened after the premiere, with results set to roll out in the July 19 episode.

First Eviction Episode.
HOH Dee
Noms Taylor, Yash, Malllory, Ashley
Veto Mallory

Recap:
Dee HOH all the power. Devens and Dee bissect the house to cover their bases.
Showmance. Boring noms. Mallory veto. Jason played Angela spill needs a mop up.
Dee renoms Ash. Blockbuster who will be evicted alphabetical order of noms to compete. Pretty boiler plate. Julie says Yash first, pause Ashley like she forgot her name, then Taylor.

Angela Paranoia Mentioned as a Focal for First Block.
Post Veto Ceremony
Taylor thinks Ashley is an easy beat. Got blockbuster but need 8 votes.
Dee says Ash nom no blowback. Yash target.
Yash says going to win blockbuster.
Ash is bottom of totem pole. Vote for me to stay.
Yash with Drew and Dee. The men numbers theory. Appears to first come from Drew.
Dee wants Taylor to stay. Have to make it Kamu and Chuk’s idea.
Taylor thinks she has have nots Jason and Latrice. She does not have have not room votes reeeally.
Lyric and Melody see the Red Corner pretty clearly. This is timey wimey. happened much later than the flow right now. Ash had told Mel the house sides.
Melody thinks Yash and Taylor are on her side. not sure of Ash (who she in house has a watch backs deal with which is why Ash went to HER).
Yash meets meatheads. Guy numbers again.
Physical threats are shields…. in an equitable comp season? Pull the other one.
ANGELA:
Angela thinks the gym is megalliance meeting. This is not the paranoia moment… the gym was empty then. This was Mama’s Angels from 2 days before the paranoia day. Check clothing. Paranoia day was her blue clothes day.
THEY ARE MAKING ANGELA’S COMPLETE PARANOIA DAY SEEM REASONABLE.
The house will be told about Time Capsule. ohhh, they are going to be begging us all the fricken time and playing best behavior. eyeroll. Should have been secret.

Yash. Okay I have all the info I need. On to the vote.

Angela v. Rome’a Army? Second Block Paranoia Two
There was NOBODY in the GYM. Dee was also watching the door. Kamu and Drew had been working out…. then empty. Ashley is a number. Yash or Taylor is a number for Rome’s army…. that does not exist.
THE TUESDAY NIGHT WEDNESDAY DRAMA: how do they clean up the stuntcast unforced errors?
Crossovers reach out to Ashley. Haley names names that were already named (then yells at Ashley the next day to say don’t name names). No Drew telling her to name names, and stir the pot. The plan to go to Melody was the Dee Angela and maybe Haley plan to Ashley. So DEE would not have to show hand in a tie breaker split house vote. DENIABILITY.
Ash tells Melody (they had a working relationship previously)
Melody: why is she telling me this.
The cut of this is…. odd. Melody DID name Drew and Barrett in her retell. They are covering that the spies were almost spied.
Drew says what did you do? About Ashley. She did what he said.
Dee says keep your mouth shut? Yup she told her to swing Melody so no tie break.
THEY TOLD HER TO ON FEEDS.
So far this episode is Taylor who. Yash got the boys boy on repeat clips. Ashley got the oops drama should we bother?

Blookbuster: ‘Do Over.
Facial Recognition Count in 2 minutes. Mallory from my count.
Yash says Mallory
Taylor says Devens
Ashley says Devens
Yash wins Blockbuster and gets caled Josh I think.
House announcement and I saw no campaigning just congrats. Did I miss some campaigning?
Ashley: dad, family, roomies, blahblahblah best for your game but keep me
Taylor: want to stay want checklist. blahblahblah please keep me here.
Eviction vote:
EVICT ASHLEY
Jason, Melody, Rome, Lyric, Mallory, Angela, Devens, Yash.
Kamu, Haley, Barrett, Drew, La Trice, Chuk.
All that drama for a unanimous vote.
So the house theoretically knows the split and they went unanimous vote like it never happened.
The possible Hannah friend first boot.
Time Capsule Announcement. Like finding Idols or exile island rewards. Gee just give a stuntcast a Coup d’Etat now and save me some annoyance.
The winner will be secret. The powers are powers from the past. This is… no bueno.

Team Taylor

This one sucks. Ashley was guaranteed safe no matter what yesterday morning. And then she over shared voting blocs with Melody and became the House vote. She wasn’t who I wanted out first, but there was no way out of this mess except the Blockbuster. At least we saw her eat her first cheeseburger.

I’m glad Taylor is still here. Her best move so far is minding her business while the other two noms overplayed with the other HGs. That may keep her away from the block for 2 weeks.

My Top 3 targets going into Week 2 are Yash, Haley, and Chuk.

d...

sigh, i feel yash is the least interesting of the noms and his haircut is terrible, so disappointed he’s staying

Freezeray

All three have basically been duds so far. But it is only week one. It takes a bit for some folks to get comfortable..

You are right about the haircut though. Hopefully it doesn’t take the nation by storm.

d...

yash is the worst kind of dud though. he contributes nothing. ashley was a moron but fun, and well, i feel taylor’s a little more flexible about who she’s willing to work with than just bro-ing out with the meatheads like yash, though she’s admittedly also looking like she’s just a number for better players.

Freezeray

I wrote this yesterday but it didn’t take.

Drew…I was wrong about Drew being this years Ashley. That take came from seeing him work both sides/everybody so nicely. I wasn’t sure about him at first, but he is clearly a VERY good player. Devens was even giving him big props last night, saying something to the effect of I have nothing left to teach you.
Big praise for such a young player. He’s gonna be great in this game.
His eagerness over becoming a drag queen for a day with Jason is a little unsettling. I gotta say. I’m just not with that stuff, for those that are God bless you.

Scott

Future suicide waiting to happen. I find that lifestyle disgusting. Is rather watch paint dry.

Rubber Ducky For The Win

Ashley’s pre-vote speech was totally cringeworthy. She had no idea how to play the game. A valid choice to be evicted first. Yash and Jason can follow her out the door next.

d...

i dunno. there’s a part of me that wants jason to stay as i worry dee’s side of the house will go completely unopposed for the next two months if he goes. and no one likes watching one side of the house being that dominant, even when you like that side of the house more than the other side.

fvrplaid

So I just watched last night’s episode and I now do not like Jason at all. I wasn’t that impressed with him to begin with and that has nothing to do with his sexuality or his drag queen stuff. It was the attitude/personality that rubbed me the wrong way. I was never a huge Angela fan either, but what Jason did to her I felt really crossed a line. Of course it is strategy or gameplay to tug on heartstrings or play for sympathy, but there’s a difference b/t that and pretty blatant exploitation of it. Everyone has a story, but I really do not like it when they take it next level like that. (Why I did not care for Vinny last year) IMO he did not come out looking like a master strategist but like a total douche. I’m just curious if anyone else sees it this way or am I in my own way being oversensitive about it? As of right now b/c of this I hope Jason is evicted next.

Moe

What was it for you with Vince that you didn’t like ? What instances?

fvrplaid

How he was always being whiny and manipulative. Would not stop talking about how often he applied and trying to make them feel bad about doing anything that could possibly result in his eviction or garner him a punishment. Like in the veto comp when Katherine won and he tried to guilt her into not taking the Veto from him.

Moe

Fair. I thought he was very hypocritical. He did Lauren so wrong. Among many others on that side. Vince is really the reason the other side won. Ashley in particular.

You're Schmoopie

Vince never stopped whining, wanted to be on the show 10 years. Who cares? Lives off his parents at almost 40 years old.

SitonmyfaceKamu

Hopefully it’s not another season of blind ‘majority house votes’ let’s spice it up with some split house votes soon.

d...

very unlikely until blockbuster ends.

Chessie_K

Mike Bloom stated on his Twitter(X) Account that Ashley is the first HouseGuest in the history of Big Brother to ever be evicted with 14 votes

The Beef

Is that because they have an extra player this year? Don’t they usually start with 16 – 8 males and 8 females? I think that’s the case, and if so, it means there’s usually only 13 people voting, so a unanimous vote would be 13.

Doesn’t change the fact she would be the first to receive 14 votes, but there does seem to be a logical explanation why she’s the first.

Freezeray

I’m in the Pacific time zone here and just finished tonight‘s episode. I’ll leave the facts to Simon and Dawg. I will say that BB did keep the blockbuster very fair considering. Pretty high drama for week one here.

-Ashley‘s keep me speech was tough to watch.
-Yash. Dude said today he was gonna fix up his hair, but it’s exactly the same. Not good.

I feel week one ended as it should have.

DrewDee for AFP

Good riddance! She was so annoying

Buck-I-Watcher

Ashley is not the 1st one OUT OF EVERYONE that I wanted to go out.
BUT out of the 3, I preferred the other 2 stayed. I wanted Taylor to stay because I like her.

I wanted Yash to stay because what Dee did to him by nom’ing him WAS WRONG and I want to see him get a chance to fight back. I don’t have a firm opinion on if I really like him yet or not, but what Dee did to him ON THE 1ST HoH week of the season to boot was just SO WRONG. I just hope that the old “lets be allies BECAUSE NOBODY WOULD EVER GUESS IT/SEE IT COMING” idea does not happen. That would be such an OLD AND TIRED idea/tactic.

BTW, I like (in alpha order) Chuk, LaLa, Mallory and Taylor; and I am leaning toward liking Haley but I haven’t exactly pinned down yet if in the long term I will.

The ones I want to go ASAP (in order of preference to go), Angela, Dee, Jason, Devens, Melody and Rome.

I’m in the middle on the rest, including Yash. With Yash, I want to wait and see his behavior after getting himself off the block. I just wanted Dee to be worried at least for a little bit that what she did by putting him on the block when he helped her win HoH AND said in the HoH battle arena “we’re safe” to her team after winning AND was even WARNED that it was a bad look on her but she refused to heed the advice because of her arrogance. Yash will probably disappoint me but I want Dee to squirm at least a little.

Buck-I-Watcher

Ah, Crapola. I just noticed that while I was composing my 1st comment submission…it was revealed who the new HoH. And to say I am NOT happy is an UNDERSTATEMENT.
