Big Brother 28 Spoilers Week 8 LaTrice, Taylor, Devens

Big Brother Spoilers Week 8 BlockBuster and Eviction Results.

Week 8 happened almost entirely off camera. The feeds went dark on Thursday night after Mallory’s eviction and came back on Saturday afternoon to a greyed-out photo on the memory wall — Haley was gone, eliminated by a four-contest medieval gauntlet with no vote, no nomination ceremony and not one second of it on the feeds. Drew was already Head of Household by the time anyone could see the house again, his first of the season, with Lala, Taylor and Yash on the block. Yash won the Power of Veto and used it on himself, and Devens volunteered for the empty seat before Drew could ask anybody else.

So Devens, Lala and Taylor play tonight’s BB Blockbuster. One of them comes off, the other two face the vote, and whoever loses it becomes the first member of the jury. The public target is Lala — but Barrett has spent two days quietly counting a completely different set of votes.

  • Head of Household: Drew, his first of the season.
  • On the block: Devens, Lala and Taylor.
  • Veto: Yash won it and used it on himself. Devens went up in his place — see how the veto and the replacement nominee work.
  • Gone this week: Haley, eliminated by the twist during the blackout. No vote was taken.
  • Tonight: the Blockbuster saves one of the three. The other two face the vote, and the loser opens the jury.

Devens wins Blockbuster

(F** I hate my life)

Dee votes to evict LALA
Angela Votes to Evict Taylor
Barrett Votes to Evict LaTrice
Yash Votes to Evict LALA
Devens Votes to Evict LALA
Melody Votes to Evict Taylor

LALA is evicted

6:06 PM — Devens and Dee (Bathroom)

Devens won the Blockbuster and came off the block. Lala went home. The first thing Dee tells him is how close she thought it got.

Dee: “Got me worried there for a second, bro. Let’s go.”
Dee: “I told you. Now that you’re safe — never any doubt. I was worried.”
Devens: “I think they were with us.”
Dee: “There were a lot of little meetings happening.”

“Now that you’re safe — never any doubt. I was worried.”

— Dee

And Devens, who has spent two days telling everyone he was safe, admits what winning cost him.

Devens: “Obviously we didn’t want to give them a chance to get me out. But it’d be nice if we knew. It’s like — now we still don’t know.”
Devens: “But I feel good about it. I don’t think they were going to turn.”
Dee: “I mean, now they almost can.”
Devens: “It’s like, you’re locked in now.”

“It’d be nice if we knew. It’s like — now we still don’t know.”

— Devens, on winning his way off the block

Then he tells her how he won it, and he is still buzzing.

Devens: “You should’ve seen me though, Dee. I did good. I was flying.”
Dee: “What was the gasps for?”
Devens: “Probably misses. Because you drop it down, and it just hits and bounces out. I had so many of them that hit right on and bounced out, and it was just like — you’re kidding.”

The layout, as he describes it: ten metal stairs, a ball pit at the bottom, a railing at the top you drop from.

Devens: “It’s like a staircase of ten metal stairs, one of those rolling ones, and I’m just going two at a time, like bang, bang. Loud as hell up and down. I did the balance beam practically.”
Devens: “And then the ball pit’s like this high. Every time you have to jump into it — you’re not allowed to lean over it or have one leg in.”
Devens: “I collect four balls right there, because you have to get four in. So I’m like, I’m going to do it in four balls. Miss like my first three.”

Lala was never in it. Taylor was.

Devens: “And then Lala only got one. Like, oh, okay — she was not a factor.”
Devens: “I hit one, and then I think Tay hit one, and then I hit two, and then I guess Tay must have hit two. And then she hit three before I hit three.”

So he stopped sprinting.

Devens: “I kept banging and missing, and I was finally just like — you gotta slow down when you’re up there, because you’re hanging over the railing trying to drop it four feet.”
Devens: “So finally I just slowed down and I hit the third one to tie. But I knew I had to hit four, because if it gets to four minutes she wins, because she got there first.”
Devens: “So right after I hit three, I ran down, I got a ball, and I was up before she even got back.”

And then he called it.

Devens: “I’m walking up to the railing and I said — game over. And dropped it. And hit the button.”

“I’m walking up to the railing and I said — game over. And dropped it. And hit the button.”

— Devens, winning the Blockbuster

Dee, on how narrow that was.

Dee: “If you would have lost against Taylor, that’s crazy. The one thing she wins.”

Back to the part that has been eating her. Dee spent the afternoon trying to read Drew and Barrett and could not get a fix on them.

Dee: “I was trying to read them. And there were times where I would think that they’d think it. And other times I’m like, no, they’re good.”
Devens: “If they were lying — and I mean, listen, I get it. They might be great liars. But if they were, they are.”
Devens: “And that’s very possible. It’s scary.”

“They might be great liars. But if they were, they are. And that’s very possible. It’s scary.”

— Devens

She had a specific worry about the Head of Household, and it is a cynical one.

Dee: “I saw Drew’s face and it was like… hmm.”
Dee: “Is he thinking about, in the case of a tie, to break it himself — to have that as a resume?”

“Is he thinking about, in the case of a tie, to break it himself — to have that as a resume?”

— Dee, on Drew

Then they audit the vote, and somebody is lying about it.

Devens: “Was it you that voted for Tay to go?”
Dee: “No, I voted to evict Lala. It was Yash and Angela.”
Devens: “Interesting. Oh, interesting.”

Because Yash has been telling him the opposite.

Dee: “He’s telling you that he voted to evict Lala?”
Devens: “Yes.”
Dee: “He’s lying. F—ing rights he’s lying. He doesn’t want to look bad with Taylor.”
Dee: “Liar. F—ing liar.”

“He’s lying. F—ing rights he’s lying. He doesn’t want to look bad with Taylor.”

— Dee, on Yash

Dee has been going person to person since the show ended, collecting answers. Angela gave hers up without much of a fight.

Dee: “And then Barrett just told me — because I was asking her, I’m like, did you vote to evict Lala? She goes, no, I voted to keep her.”
Devens: “Angela did?”
Dee: “Mm-hmm. As a pity vote.”

“She goes, no, I voted to keep her.” — “Angela did?” — “Mm-hmm. As a pity vote.”

— Dee and Devens

Dee: “And I’m like, okay, well, I voted to evict her — so who’s that other person?”

Barrett had the answer, and had already covered for it.

Dee: “Barrett said that Yash asked him, like, what are we going to do? And Barrett’s like — vote to evict Lala.”
Dee: “So I think Yash was banking on Melody. Melody voted to evict her.”
Dee: “Which is great. That’s really funny.”

And Barrett said it where it would stick.

Dee: “He said it in front of Taylor, so that Yash wouldn’t f— around and try to pin it on one of us.”
Devens: “Which he still will.”

“He said it in front of Taylor, so that Yash wouldn’t f— around and try to pin it on one of us.” — “Which he still will.”

— Dee and Devens

Then Dee apologises for the last two days.

Dee: “I just didn’t want to scare you.”
Devens: “You freaked me out.”
Dee: “I’m sorry. Just a lot of meetings. And then last night, they all got together, too.”
Devens: “Angela told you that, or you saw her?”
Dee: “I believe her, though. I know she gets paranoid.”

Angela had got to Devens too, right before he went out to play.

Devens: “She was like, you have to win this. They’re not gonna vote for you.”
Devens: “And I was like — Angela, it’s fine.”

“She was like, you have to win this. They’re not gonna vote for you.” — “And I was like, Angela, it’s fine.”

— Devens, on Angela before the Blockbuster

Dee’s evidence for all of it is behavioural, and she has been counting it.

Dee: “Every time we’re in groups, Drew stays back with Barrett. Barrett stays back in the storage room.”
Dee: “After me and Angela were in there, they stayed talking. I tried to listen for half an hour. I couldn’t hear s—.”
Devens: “I know Angela was trying to listen to everything. I was just like — it is what it is.”

Somebody comes into the bathroom, congratulates Devens on the win, and gets asked the same question everybody has been asked since the show ended — who did you vote for. The answer is Lala, which makes four.

Devens: “Who’d you vote?”
Dee: “Yeah, so it was us four. We’re trying to see.”

7:17 pm Eating before HOH

7:40pm Bedroom – Drew and Melody They talk about the vote and who the two votes were for Taylor and not Lala. (It was Angela and Melody that voted out Taylor.) Drew – do you really think Yash did? Melody – I don’t know. Like I genuinely don’t. Drew – I don’t know either. Melody – Like he seems serious. Drew – he seems genuine. I don’t really care though. I’m just curious because there is nothing else to talk about. 7:45pm Bathroom – Dee and Devens Devens – just know I trust you completely. Dee – how do you see the end game going? Devens – The End Game .. I think it depends on who wins HOH. Dee – if you had to put one of them up, would you? Devens – oh yeah. Dee – who would you do first? Devens – whoever I thought we could beat more. Like if I thought Barrett had more votes because he’s lying .. I mean it would be a discussion. Dee – yeah. Devens – Of if I think Drew has more votes because he has a better resume. But either one. Who would you put up? Dee – I don’t care! But not because of .. who I think.. We can’t be scared. Devens – I mean I am not scared but what would you base it on? Dee – I don’t know .. I guess maybe who we trust more at the time. Not based on jury but based on voting. Like who they would vote to evict. Like Melody wouldn’t vote to evict Drew of Barrett. Things like that. Devens – yeah, It would be obviously a discussion. Dee – yeah. Devens – whatever we do, I see us doing it together. Dee – yeah. Ok, cool. Devens – just weighing all that out. But Angela.. Dee – is solid. Dee – Barrett is paranoid but solid. Devens – yeah. If you win this week.. Crossovers strong. Dee – yeah, I think so. Devens – yeah me too. I worry about her. Dee – why woudn’t she.. Devens – she’s just.. Big Brother switches the feeds. 8pm The live feeds switch to the pound cams for the Head Of Household competition to start..

NOOOOOOOOO…….

fvrplaid

Every time BB or Survivor has returning players I cannot figure out if there are forces working to get them to stay. To be fair the new players often seem enamored of them, they do after all have celebrity status in the show bubble. However, the returnees are often just kinda there and not really adding anything to the game or the show. Yet many of them seem to also make it far.
Is it production interfering, i.e. making subtle comments to the players or having certain comps that they are more likely to win or do well in. Or is it the players, i.e. do they genuinely believe the returnee is good for their game or are they afraid of incurring the wrath of the fans if they take out a “beloved” returnee.
I can see why Dee is still here, she always plays hard and plays well. But Angela and Devens are in the category of just there. To be fair I have only sporadically watched the season and I try to keep up with this website, but hurricanes, long power outages, and my job prevent me from seeing everything, so maybe I am missing some awesome stuff from them. Regardless, in the reality game show world I believe returning players with new ones will remain controversial, there are definitely pros and cons for having them, but I often don’t see the benefit of it.

Team Taylor

LaLa is my second pre-season pick evicted, but at least she gets to vote for the winner as a juror.

She benefited in the early game with other HGs as bigger targets and surviving eviction against Jason. But her game started the moment she upset Queen Temu in “The Wall” HOH comp and flipped the game by sending out stanky Chuk.

Then she saved herself with the Veto in another physical comp and forced Dee to play a messy game by picking a new HG target.

In the end, she just didn’t have the bonds Taylor had to survive eviction. LaLa played a good game and I will miss her.

My Top 3 targets going into Week 9 are Yash, Dee, and Devens.

Taylor for AFP

I knew it would be that comp

Ugh

Team Taylor

Pre-Jury BB28 Players Assessment:

10. Haley — she described herself as “outgoing, bubbly, and fun”…what we got was “snarky, conceited, and ignorant”. While I’m not a fan of HGs being eliminated in comps (*coughs* White Locust), I’m not sad to see her out. She won’t learn anything from this experience and we’re better off never seeing her again.

11. Mallory — after a rough start, she saved herself being the Week 1 target and made good alliances in the house. Her downfall was throwing the HOH to Dee after scheming to get Angela evicted over Kamu. She was too scared to make a move and ended up being Dee’s next biggest eviction move. Mallory is a case study of what happens when you wait too long to play the game in your favor.

12. Kamu — he was the most adaptable player from the Red Corner alliance and had good alliances in nearly all sides of the house. But the DPOV changed plans and made him the target. I’m no fan of players who take cheap shots at messy bitches and in the same breath claim to play an “honorable” game. I’m sure his DMs are filled with randos sending him two coconuts and a pickle.

13. Chuk — Ashley eating a burger was more entertaining than watching this nothing-burger. He took game moves personally, refused to adapt, and refused to shower properly.

14. Lyric — she was more savvy with her gameplay than I originally expected. Winning the Veto and having someone save you with the Veto isn’t a small feat. But throwing her friends under the bus, Haley’s jealousy, and Dee’s last minute vote flip ended her time sooner than expected.

15. Jason — my first pre-season pick evicted. Instead of being a double agent for the vets, he immediately ran his mouth nonstop and painted himself into an instant target. Despite that, he was really good at most comps and gave us unforgettable drama.

16. Rome — had Angela not fanned the flames with Devens to get him out, he would have gone a lot further. He was becoming the center of the opposition alliance to the vets, but he couldn’t win the Blockbuster to save himself and recoup his game.

17. Ashley — she had a lot of potential, but was made a renom over Melody for diplomatic reasons. Her one and only game move made her the target when she shared The Crossovers’s plan to keep her.

Happy Deven stayed and Lala went bye bye.

Tre Billis

Me too Lala was a nothing player and never deserved to win. Time to go. Bah bye.

Rubber Ducky For The Win

Devens pulling out the Blockbuster win definitely puts a kink in Barrett’s plan to make a move against the alleged icons. He needs to win HOH if he wants to make a big move, other wise he has drawn a big target on himself this week. Lala was a cool player and kind of got screwed this week. Love how she admitted to Julie that she was definitely confused at times, that shows a level of self-awareness some players never show. Devens needs to stay away from Yash and his hair clippers.

Bb123

Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha!!!

Get Dee and Barrett out of the house. Both are snakes and it’s time for them to go!

Devens and/or Drew for the win!!!

Cal

Did they have a vacuum in Devens tube to turn on and off to make it close?

So Eviction Episode Recap Thoughts:
i am just watching it now. Let us see: i have skipped the results in this section in order to be surprised and just jumped to comments. I’m going in blind.
Recap:
Haley leaves. Barrett defection. Drew HOH. Devens volunteers pawn. Yash veto. Devens renom.
Post Veto Ceremony d/r exposition. Do we get any new insight?
The recap is pro Devens staying. Breaking the renom streak.
Devens: stupid move. miiight work with help of Grod.
Drew: he volunteered.
Dee: why volunteer? never volunteer.
LaLa: happy Devens on the block. hope we win bb, Devens leaves.
Melody wants Devens to go. Wants to protect Barrett and the flip vote.
Taylor: finally. Devens out door. Iffy with LaLa I have votes to stay.
Angela pulls a there’s the group. Angela says she had good reads in 26. BULLSHIT.
Oh. LATRICE IS IN TROUBLE. That exposition was baaaad for LaTrice. She’s not winning Block Buster for sure.
SECTION ONE: THE PLOT
Devens and the boys: the threesome to be the final 3. Devens doesn’t want to sit next to Dee anymore than she wants to sit next to Devens. At least in d/r.
The Mallory scrunchie debate. Drew, what made you think that was good?????? Idiot.
Angela is concerned about ‘that’s the group.’ Doesn’t trust Barrett. would make the stike herself, just wouldn’t tell.
Barrett reveals he’s not allowed to be seen with the outsiders.
Drew and Barrett. Barrett is playing them. Drew is xovers to the end. Barrett wants to make his own moves.
SECTION ONE CONCLUSION: Devens is about to win block buster. Edit doesn’t lie. Of course it is. We can’t have a flip work unless it has Dee and Devens behind it… it’s the Grod way.
SECTION TWO: THE NOOSE
Nobody is moving to vote out Devens Barrett says.
Angela is sketch saying she’s trusting him. IF DEVENS WINS BB. Another confirmation.
All the xovers meet. THE SKETCHBALL MEETING.
Dee is upset Devens is spending time with the boys after Dee instructed him to keep the boys close because her HOH created fractures.
Dee and Angela conspire. Let’s flip on Devens. He’s on the platter.
SECTION THREE THE GET OUT OF JAIL FREE BLOCK BUSTER
Your Game In Ruins
4 MINUTES. 4 BALLS. HIT BUZZER.
Devens up to 2 Taylor ties. Latrice one.
How many balls does Devens have??? I see about 7 on top of his pit. wtf? Those green splashes stand out. And the top of his pit is covered in green splashes.
Taylor up to 3. Devens ties. Taylor bounces out. Devens wins.
Fist Section Edit never lies.
SECTION FOUR : THE EVICTION
Devens announced. Reaction: not the level of clap i expected. hmmm. Barrett is doing whispers. didn’t hear. with Angela.
LaTrice: shout outs. excited to be here. 58. I want to stay. I am going to win comps for you.
Taylor: i want to stay. Nothing harmful to say. I want to stay. Do what’s best for your game.
Evict LaTrice
Dee, Barrett, Yash, Devens
Evict Taylor
Angela, Melody
by a vote of 4-2 LaTrice is evicted.
screen went black for a second. wth. Taylor leaves as Angela cries. Taylor cries in bathroom alone. They’re going to starve.
Because Taylor isn’t a threat to win comps they kept her. Talk of the Wall. LaTrice… is wrong about who kept her. I think Melody rogue voted. Admits actual confusion not strategy confusion. She is upset with being voted out by Melody, Barrett and Yash.
She really dislikes Drew. we been knew.
Am I impressed? not at all. why? A nope survived against 2 not noped. OF course i hate that.

D/R
Top Tier: 120+
Dee 174
Devens 150
Drew 131
Melody 124

Second Tier: 90-119
Yash 107
Barrett 105
Angela 102

Third Tier 0-89
Taylor 84

Yash got more d/r for the week than the HOH.
Devens got about equal to Taylor as the lowest movers… with ANGELA getting the least storyline input in d/r.

Barrett is HOH. Does he pull the trigger? Devens and Drew are joking about it.

In rogue vote land: Melody denied. Dee blamed Yash. question of Barrett was quickly dismissed. Melody and Yash prime suspects. AND THEN… Dee is questioned by Devens and she’s pissed at him. Wants to separate Drew and Devens.
Does Taylor care? Taylor rogue voted week two. I doubt it.

Yash Dee Devens – make it happen.
