Some people mark summer by beach days, barbecues, and patio drinks.
Big Brother fans mark summer by sleep deprivation, live-feed paranoia, and screaming “WHY WOULD YOU TELL THEM THAT?!” at 2:14 a.m.
And now, the countdown officially begins.
CBS has officially confirmed that Big Brother 28 premieres on Thursday, July 9, 2026, with a supersized 90-minute premiere episode hosted once again by Julie Chen Moonves.
And yes — the live feeds are returning too, meaning strangers on the internet will once again become certified body-language experts after watching two people whisper beside a toaster oven.
The BB28 Schedule: Your Summer Is No Longer Yours
CBS is leaning hard into the expanded format again this season. Here’s the current confirmed weekly schedule:
- Thursdays: Live eviction episodes
- Sundays: Regular episodes
- Wednesdays: 90-minute strategy-heavy episodes
- Fridays: Big Brother: Unlocked returns as the aftershow companion series
Translation: there are now enough Big Brother episodes each week to qualify as a part-time job.
Fans are already split on the expanded schedule. Some love the extra strategy content, while others still have PTSD from last season’s filler montages featuring people reacting dramatically to sandwiches. Reddit discussions have been especially vocal about whether the 90-minute episodes will finally focus more on gameplay instead of endless recap packages.
Rumors, Leaks & Wild Fan Theories Already Taking Over the Internet
It wouldn’t be Big Brother season without the internet assembling conspiracy theories worthy of a crime documentary.
No reality show fandom spirals faster than Big Brother fans in preseason mode.
At this point, someone could post a blurry photo of a patio chair outside the studio lot and Reddit would somehow conclude:
“Confirmed: Pressure Cooker comp returning.”
And honestly, they’re probably already working on a 40-slide theory thread.
Sources and fan leaks suggest BB28 may include:
- AI-driven competitions
- America’s Vote powers returning
- Secret missions
- Hidden immunity-style advantages
- Expanded Have-Not punishments
- And at least one twist guaranteed to completely destroy a strong alliance
Here’s what fans are buzzing about heading into BB28:
Returning Players? Maybe. Probably. Possibly. Probably Not. Who Knows.
CBS has not officially announced returning houseguests, but fans noticed that promotional wording has been oddly vague about the cast being entirely “new” players. The network has avoided using the phrase “all-new houseguests.” Naturally, the fandom immediately spiraled.
Some viewers are predicting:
- A secret veteran entering late
- A “coaches” twist
- A mystery player hidden from the cast
- Or another Rachel Reilly-style chaos injection midway through the premiere
Honestly, at this point, Big Brother fans could see a lamp in the background of a teaser trailer and convince themselves it’s “confirmation” of an All-Stars season.
The Live Feed Anxiety Is Real
One of the biggest preseason conversations isn’t even about the houseguests — it’s about how fans will follow the feeds this year.
A major concern online is that changes to X (formerly Twitter) could impact popular live-feed update accounts that fans rely on daily.
Which means:
- less instant chaos reporting,
- fewer clipped arguments,
- and potentially thousands of fans being forced to… actually watch the feeds themselves.

The Live Feeds Are Returning — And So Is Internet Madness
Yes, the live feeds are back.
Meaning thousands of viewers will once again:
- watch people sleep for four hours,
- suddenly become body-language experts,
- and argue online about whether someone washing dishes “felt strategic.”
Another Secret Theme Is Probably Coming
Last season leaned heavily into mystery and secret-agent style twists.
CBS hasn’t revealed BB28’s official house theme yet, but longtime viewers know the pattern:
- cryptic teaser trailers that mean nothing and have zero actual clues,
- dramatic key graphics with nothing related to the actual season,
- Julie saying “expect the unexpected” like she’s legally obligated,
- and at least one twist that completely breaks the game by Week 3.
Tradition matters.
Why Big Brother Still Works After 28 Seasons
Here’s the weird thing about Big Brother: every single year fans swear they’re done.
“This show is exhausting.”
“The twists are terrible.”
“I can’t watch another alliance named after furniture.”
And then July arrives…
Suddenly everyone’s arguing over veto strategy while eating cereal at midnight.
Because underneath the goofy costumes, punishment units, and occasional nonsense twists, Big Brother still delivers something reality TV rarely does anymore: genuine unpredictability.
You’re watching people trapped together long enough for politeness to evaporate completely.
It’s sociology with pool floaties.
What Fans Actually Want From BB28
If you spend five minutes reading fan reactions online, the wishlist becomes pretty clear:
- More strategic editing
- Less scripted Diary Room yelling
- Better competitions
- Earlier live feeds
- Fewer feed outages
- More chaotic personalities
- And absolutely no “summer camp influencer” casting overload
Fans want players willing to lie, manipulate, backstab, and then somehow still cry together over frozen pizza at 1 a.m.
Basically, they want a hot mess.
Final Prediction: Expect Chaos Immediately
If recent seasons have taught us anything, it’s this:
The first 72 hours of Big Brother 28 will probably include:
- 7 failed alliances,
- someone crying in the Have-Not room,
- a completely unnecessary showmance,
- and one player accidentally revealing their entire strategy before unpacking their suitcase.
And honestly? We wouldn’t have it any other way.
So clear your schedule, prepare your group chats, and warn your family members that you’ll soon begin sentences with:
“Okay, but on the feeds last night…”
Summer officially starts when the front door opens.
OH BOY, OH BOY!!!!
I’m looking forward to it like usual.
But did you guys see that Big Brother Canada is coming back next year?

I figured that would be posted on here because it is huge news. I really liked Big Brother Canada for like the first 10 seasons before they nerfed the show and got it cancelled by taking away the live feeds… Like I still REALLY want a crossover season where the best of Canada goes against the best of the US (maybe some other countries too but these two are the main ones that do comps as far as I know.).
Arisa Cox isn’t back and was replaced by a lady I’ve never heard of named Andrea Bain but she seems like a fan of the show so that’s good. Idk if live feeds will be back but they better. Like they need to learn from their mistakes.
Yeah I saw they’re bring back BBCAN .. I find it bizarre how they slowly killed it and ruined the live feeds and now they’re bringing it back. If the live feeds are not brought back as 24/7 and they just have the digital dailies I feel like it will crash and burn yet again..
Agreed. They better have learned their lesson or they must just want to come back for 1-2 seasons max.
Welcome back boys! Looking forward to another summer of snark, wit, and drama!
The hype is real! 20 more days
