6:05pm HOH Room – Barrett and Dee
Barrett – when are you going to talk to Mallory? Dee – what do you think I should do? Barrett – knowing .. because I feel really weird around her right now. Dee – You do. But is it because you’re putting off an energy or.. Barrett – I think I am a little bit. It’s hard to hide. Dee – Yeah. Fuck. So should I tell her? ASAP. So that you don’t have to hide the the emotion. What do you want me to do? What do you want me to do? Barrett – whatever. Dee – You tell me I would, I would love to not have to, not have to, like, be revealing of what I know for too, too long. Dee – No, of course not. Of course. Barrett – But I think she already gets a vibe. Dee – She gets a vibe? Barrett – Like, even just being in the kitchen with her for five seconds, I could tell she was like, because I’m just going up and down right now with the HOH right now.
Dee – I will tell her right now then.
Barrett – she was asking about like people conspiring against her and I was just like Oh my God. Dee – Yeah, she she definitely feels something then. Barrett – Yeah.
Dee – OK I have to lie to her, though. Do you understand that? Barrett – About what? Dee – Like about why I’m not putting, why I’m putting somebody from the Mosh Pit up, because I can definitely put Haley up or Yash. Barrett – Oh yeah. Dee – But I do want her to know about the power. Barrett – No, you don’t have to tell her that. Dee – And especially she’s very close with Yash. Like she could absolutely tell him. SO I mean, I’m f**ked either way if she comes back. So it’s really not even off, Barrett – yeah.
Dee – I am going to emphasize she’s not my target but what if she herself says like, what happens if Taylor wins? Barrett 0 What the hell do I tell her then? Dee – that’s the question I would hope nobody asks ever, but she’s going to ask you that too. She’s yeah, she’s pacing. She’s scared, and that’s something you got to figure out too. Barrett – Yeah. Dee – And if you want to workshop it, we can I think that’s harder for you. Barrett leaves.

Dee talks the the cameras about how she was surprised that Barrett didn’t push more for Mallory to not go up especially before jury.

6:30pm HOH room – Dee and Mallory
Dee – I know you feel a weird vibe. And it is exactly what you’re thinking. I’m, just going to lay it all out. OK and here are my reasons, the only two people outside of the Mosh Pit that I could put up as an option. Haley and Yash and I’m being so forward with you and everything. Haley, I think will never put me up as a nom. And Yash, I didn’t put him up as a nom. If I don’t put him up as a renom, we’re even and he wouldn’t put me up. And if he comes back and wins, he will absolutely put me up. And he is the best competitor in the house and so my next thought is who in the Mosh Pit would I put up that I think would put me up. I think you would put me up.
Mallory – I wouldn’t put you up. I mean that. Dee – so I did think about that. So then if you won HOH, who would you put up? Who would your noms be?
Mallory – The people left not in Mosh Pit. Dee – which are who? Mallory – It depends who leaves. Dee – So let’s just say Taylor goes, Lala, Yash, Haley. Dee – And you would put Yash up? Mallory – I would if that’s all his left. Dee – because I feel like you and Yash have been working very closely since like the beginning, you know.
Mallory – I mean me, and Yash have been like friends at the beginning and it was the beginning of the game was different. In the beginning I felt like there were two sides of the house.
Dee – if you won HOH like you would put me up and and understandably because you have been working you know with Taylor also like, I feel like you guys are together. You got what I’m saying and like you’ve never had to put blood on your hands. Mallory – yes, I agree. And I haven’t had to put any blood on my hands. Dee – And he (Yash) didn’t put you up as a nom so that would be very like kind of f**ked in a way that doesn’t make sense. But you would go and put him up .. is what I am saying. When I put you up week one. Which is exactly why he put me up and I understand completely. Mallory – but I am not in any alliances with Yash.

Mallory – I think it would upset less people to put up other people other besides me.
Dee – Yeah, I agree. I definitely agree. I guess in the moment, like, I’m not thinking about like, upsetting people more so than my fear. And who would put me out the following week? You get what I’m saying. Especially with all the talk of like the Room and the ICONS and who said what? Like that is
what’s freaking me out more so than upsetting people. But it’s absolutely true. It would be upsetting many, many people, but that’s not my worry. Even though it sounds selfish, my worry is like next week. You know what I’m saying, I think it would be like not even just like upsetting people. Like making people unhappy.

Dee – There’s not that many people left. Mallory – Yeah, I know. Dee – That’s the freaking problem. Mallory – Yeah. Dee – who would you put up like Yash or Haley if you were in my position like considering what I told you. Mallory – Yeah, I’m thinking honestly, I would just say Haley because I think you all should have the best chance of winning something. Dee – Yeah. Mallory – and I think, Haley already has like a big target that she wants to get out behind. I think Yash put her up too, like I think even if, she like, might consider putting you up. I think she would already have other people that she would want to go after. Dee – Yeah, that is true.

Mallory – Like I really don’t want to go up, like you told me I would be good.
Dee – and I meant that, this is just the scenario of why I considered you, you got what I’m saying. And if there were more people in the game, that wouldn’t even be a thought. But there’s not more people in the game. Like those are the 2 people outside the mosh pit right now that are eligible. And those were like the reasons, and I do believe you. I do like, don’t think that I’m not. Mallory – Yeah. Dee – I’m just thinking, you know. Yeah. and I have till the morning too. So, I do need to talk to Yash and Haley.

Mallory – Ahhh.. I really don’t want to go up. Dee – I know. Mallory – do you have a way that you’re leaning? Dee – I am leaning more Haley than Yash.

Dee asks if Mallory is ok to leave so that she can talk to Yash and Haley. Mallory leaves. Dee talks to the cameras about how awkward that conversation was.

6:45pm Bedroom – Mallory is crying under the covers in the pod bedroom.

7pm HOH room – Dee fills Angela in on telling Mallory she was an option to go up as the replacement nom so that Angela knows that Mallory knows. Dee – I told her I needed to talk to Yash and Haley but I don’t really.

7:30pm HOH room – Angela comes back after leaving to talk to Dee again
Dee – Oh my God, what happened ’cause I just heard are you kitchen and you guys hear something? Angela – We heard something like drop but it must have been like the door slam in the DR the 2nd door and then Mallory is saw her coming out. Dee – Yeah. Angela – We heard crying obviously and she says for me to go to the back bedroom kind of with her over there. And she said Dee has told me she’s considering putting me up as a renom. I really don’t want to and she’s shaking. So I hold her and hug her. I’m about to die. I know it’s my heart. Dee – I know its so sad bro. Angela – And I said she did, and she said yes. She said will you please go talk to Dee and tell her to please don’t put me up as a renom. So that is what I am up here supposedly doing. But I am going to change my shirt and try not to cry. She said I will not put her up. Or any of you, I think she needs to start coming more clean about her game. Dee – I agree. Angela – She could very well stay. I absolutely told this power. Dee – I absolutely told Barrett that I didn’t like that she didn’t speak up at the table.
Angela – maybe this is a very good opportunity because Dee, she could win that blockbuster. Yeah, she could come back in this game. Dee – I know. Angela – Let’s not let her. And she’s a target. Gain some power here and ask her, what do you have with Yash? What do you have with Haley? What is going on? Dee – OK. Let’s set that aside.. I ask her all of that .. She tells me the truth. There are still four people against three. Angela – you’re right. Dee – you know what I’m saying. Angela – yeah she’s got to go. Dee – I understand that and part of me wants to believe her but they will still put each other up before us. And Haley would not put us up. Angela – no she wouldn’t. She wouldn’t. Dee – this is the moment in the game that it gets emotional and it f**king sucks. Angela – it has to be done. Dee – And we need Barrett on our side. Angela – You have to do it. We don’t have a choice. I am sorry I made this worse. Dee – no trust me. I get it. I told you why I was f**king sad.
Angela –

7:45pm Gym – Melody crying ..

8:15pm – 8:30pm Bedroom – Mallory, Melody and Barrett..
Melody – So what exactly happened? Mallory – she said because she already put me up.. Melody – to who? To your face? Mallory – yeah. Melody – and then she told you just before? Barrett – she told me and Drew in the HOH room before she came to go get her (Mallory). Melody – what was said in the conversation? Barrett – she said that Mallory will put her up and she doesn’t think Haley would put her up. She is being weird about Yash. I don’t know what the f**k happened there with Yash. We all told her that Haley would put up Devens at the very least. With Devens in the room. He agreed. Devens is also pissed. We all don’t know why she is doing this. And then with Yash, it was literally like he would put up all three icons. So she clearly did something with Yash and with Haley she thinks she’s good with Haley. She thinks that Drew and me are good with Haley.
Melody – If she does this, like, I’m sorry, but, like, it’s like war. Barrett – Yeah, it is. Mallory -It is against Haley talking about that too. Barrett – it just turns.. makes everyone more pissed off. Melody – you are a f**king coward. Barrett – and that’s what I told her, Haley pisses nobody off if she put her up.. nobody is mad at that. AND also she’s got one foot out the door. It makes zero f**king sense.
Melody – I want all the smoke. I don’t give a f**k. You’re scared and you’re a f**king coward! No fucking joking, dude, I’m so fucking angry. Like you don’t understand. I have. I have literally and I understand, like, it’s not me on the block and I’m not trying to like I know, yeah, it hasn’t happened yet..

8:40pm Backyard – Drew and Barrett
Drew – I don’t know what the priority is to keep me. Barrett – I think it is. That’s what Angela told me. Drew – I just hope this week doesn’t have me going randomly because of all this bullsh*t. Barrett – It won’t. Drew – I think Dee has f**ked up here. She is loyal but she continuously f**ked up. Barrett – I have spent this entire f**king season getting Mallory good with her .. and over and over and over and over again that she would no put her up..

8:50pm Bedroom – Melody and Mallory
Mallory – this is going to sound really cocky but I could have beat her in the HOH room but I just thought she wouldn’t put me up. Melody – Same. I purposefully went the wrong way. Mallory – She is not that good of a competitor. I hope she is losing her fan base because of this. Melody –
If they do this and they wanna air shit out. I’m denying everything, period. But also, you wanna
air sh*t out. I’m gonna air sh*t out too. I’ll say how Dee came up to me personally and came up to you personally and told us that we were good this week. And told us not to worry. So that’s another form of you being a no f**king liar. And she told Drew he was good this week too.

9pm Backyard – Devens, Barrett and Drew
Devens – I’m try to get a perspective on this ’cause I still don’t understand. I’m still, I mean, I do understand it, I guess from her perspective, but not from US perspective, maybe from her perspective. Barrett – You (Devens) used your diamond power veto to save her (Dee) instead of potentially saving it for yourself until the expiration, and now she’s going out of her way to make sure that pretty much everyone that would put you on the block is guaranteed to be safe. Devens – Yeah, it’s pretty frustrating when you put it that way.

9:15pm Storage Room – Mallory, Melody and Drew
Mallory tells Drew that he is the reason why Dee doesn’t trust her because he told her a while ago that I would put her on the block, and you’re the one that told her that we weren’t sure about keeping the vote. Like you’re the reason she doesn’t trust me. Drew – You can blame me. I’ll take the heat. Mallory – I’m just saying, I know it’s obviously not completely your fault. Drew – I obviously want you to be here and I obviously want you or me to win this blockbuster. Mallory – You can’t tell them things? Look at what happen. Drew – I know, but it’s because she doesn’t want.. she’s f**king scared of Yash and she wants to work with Haley. Mallory – well, she should be scared of me. I hope she is after this. Drew – I am sorry that I got you into this but I am going to get us out of this and win the blockbuster.

9:20pm HOH room – Dee and Devens
Dee – what the f**k? Devens – Are they pissed off at you! Dee – I don’t give a f**k! I don’t care. They’re going to put me up, they’re going to put you up. Devens – I’m talking about Drew and Barrett. Dee – they’re pissed off at me? Why? Devens – they’re pissed off .. in their minds you’ve just screwed over everybody in the alliance but yourself.. including me. And I am kind of playing along. Dee – of course you have to. Devens – Like I don’t get it. I am very frustrated about this.. like it seems like she could have just put up Yash or Haley. Dee – yeah but I told you about the power now so it makes sense. Devens – well it makes sense for you but not for any of us. Devens – like after you used the power on her last week .. she’s really not looking after you. And I am like I know. I know its f**ked right but this is still the way. Dee – well that helps your game and everybody’s and Angela’s. I know Drew is more pissed off than Barrett. Devens – they’re both pissed off. And now they really don’t get it and why Haley would not be going up. Dee and Devens then both catch each other up on earlier today.

10pm Backyard Hammock – Mallory and Melody
Mallory – If Drew asks how you’re voting are you going to tell him the truth? Melody – he already knows. When we were out here before you came out and he was like I know I don’t have your vote if I’m sitting next to Mallory. And I just didn’t say anything for a while. I said I don’t think you have the numbers anyway and then he said I already knew that.

10:22pm All feeds are on Mallory laying in silence by the hammock..

11:30pm Kitchen – Mallory and Barrett.
Barrett tells Mallory about his conversation with Dee – she recapped her conversation with you to me. She said pretty much the exact same thing that you said about who you would put up. She doesn’t believe you. I told her again how much I would rather Haley on the block. I was kind of a cry baby about it. She said I was acting weird, that was fun. She doesn’t want you to go home. Basically that Taylor is the target.

11:55pm Backyard – Mallory, Melody, Drew and Barrett
Mallory – you can’t be chill with Dee if she does this. If she does this I’m serious like its f**ked up and she doesn’t care about any of you she’s doing it. Drew – No, I do.. I’m already on the block. Mallory – like its not cool at all. Drew – but obviously Taylor is going this week. Mallory – yeah. Drew – I am coming off or you’re coming off. And then Taylor goes. Barrett – are you saying we can’t be cool with Dee? Mallory – I don’t think you should if she puts me up. Drew – I do think we just play nice. Mallory – I am not playing nice! Melody – we need to play nice for this week. Drew – yup! Melody – so that we have the Icons votes. Barrett – I don’t want you to think for a second that I don’t love you and that I am not really mad. And that I don’t love Operation Go To War. Mallory – okay you guys are right. Drew – I do think this is bullsh*t. This is f**king a$$ but I do think we could play we’re the Mosh Pit a little bit longer. And if we’re nice with them.. they don’t have anybody else. They don’t have Yash, they don’t have Taylor and they don’t have Lala. I don’t know where the f**k Haley’s at. If we act cool about it like yeah its whatever, we’re going to win the blockbuster anyways.. I do think that they would vote to keep us over Taylor. Melody – that why everybody has to act like fine..
Mallory – the second I win the blockbuster I am literally flipping off Dee. I don’t care if its on live television. Drew – don’t do it until the vote is over. Melody – you don’t need to hug her but I wouldn’t diss her because we need them to vote to keep Drew. Mallory – fine, I’ll be nice if I win.

Crap, Malory is the only one like.

Cajunista

Same. I’m so mad at her and Melody for not trying for HOH!!!! I can’t believe they trusted the icons. And weasel Barrett. Ick.

Tre Billis

Who else should she nominate? Haley? They are getting towards the end. That alliance formed too late. Dee didn’t want to nominate Mallory but she has no other choice.

bbfan

shouldnt have done that deal with yash

BB fan since day 1

Haley!

Tre Billis

Haley will be enlisted to go against former mosh pit. They need her now. It is too bad both Lala and Melody hate Haley as they could have recruited her.

Paso Doble

Towards the end?? We haven’t even hit jury yet.

Cajunista

We haven’t even got to jury!

Shmoopie

Why in the world would you throw a HOH? I like Mallory, but that’s just ridiculous. Look where you’re sitting now.

orwell the out of work BBAD owl

Mallory is a ray of sunshine in a house full of turds.

SkydiverMacGyver

Is it fair to say that Melody and Mallory are maybe starting to float a little bit? They’ve had some impact with the early voting as they are a pair, and their votes are important, but it seems lately that they’ve been pushed around a little in the recent voting, and no one has really been seeking their input. It appears they’re being TOLD what to do, and not asked. My .02

Steveo

Despite liking Mallory as a person, you have to look at the game from Dee’s point of view. Mallory is not “with” her, and it is obvious. She is a floater. Mallory should have tried to win HOH at the end of the day.

Ribbet

Oh I agree, it just sucks is all, no one else to root for.

un autre nom

Got a joke message from one of my bb friends.
“Dee told the feeders her friends are keeping a list of her haters”
my response
can i send them a detailed expletive filled reason to add me to the list?

LaurenNovaCupcake

If I was devens I’d lay in the cut and let Dee burn these bridges, with an eye on potential jury mgmt. Hes clearly loyal to Dee but this is a chance for him to try and counter dees jury moves. Ie Angela/Barrett/Haley. In addition to the first survivor/BB winner theme her and production are gonna be pushing if she gets there. I’d also somehow take advantage of her playing BB like it’s survivor so far. BB is so much longer, I’d think BB jury votes are more relationship based than survivor. Survivor big moves resume etc. I’m hoping a newbie wins but just thinking about a potential dee v devens future.

Tre Billis

Newbies are boring. I watched Survivor and have always like Survivir more. Go Dee abd Devin’s.

StillwatchingBB

I dream of the season when Survivor casting directors fill the BB house with actual competitors rather than wanna-be influencers. How fun would that be?!

SkydiverMacGyver

If Dee and Devens make F2, which I’m not sure they have any intention of going together…..I think Devens has a ready made counter to Dee’s JH votes in that she’s allready won Survivor, he saved her game by taking her off the block, and he removed one of the biggest threats in Kamu. Dee is allready staring to burn bridges, like with Drew. Drew will rally Melody, and Mallory goes where she goes.

So if Dee is the second best player in this season, and Devens is numero uno, there is no way Dee doesn’t pickup that she can’t beat Devens in F2. I believe she will attempt to take Angela. I believe Devens will want to take Dee, and I believe Angela will want Devens.

Dee>Angela
Angela>Devens
Devens>Dee

The jury will award momma Angela the prize over Devens, because she will cry her way to victory. The girls know she would set a record, as the oldest and oldest female to win, cementing her legacy status.

Mooning

I want Devens to win. Don’t like any of the newbies.

Bib Budders

WTH? Taylor should be the target, is she up in the HoH’s shower again on her hands and knees scrubbing away?

d...

taylor and lala surviving this week is insane and shows they’re underrated players.

A bunch of weirdo's

La La won the wall and a veto; and she has been the Target a few times. Lol. Taylor won a veto. The “icons” are overrated.
Mel &Mal finally woke up; but still not really. And I how they find more vocabulary besides like and Dude. I cannot believe she’s a rocket scientist; or whatever they said.
I threw the HOH comp midway thru the game?? Huh??? What????
I would never, ever, ever, throw a comp.

d….

Yeah, it’s all relative. really it’s everyone else is overrated more than that Taylor and Layla are underrated

Mooning

Agree. Never throw comps. And never ever tell anyone you have an advantage until it is used. E.g; If Deven hadn’t told Dee about the Diamond veto he perhaps wouldn’t have felt obligated to save her when she got in trouble. So ends up playing her game. Had he kept his mouth shut, Dee would be gone and he could have used it this week to maybe save himself and get rid of Kamu. People always make the mistake of having friends vs allies in the house. Playing for that kind of life changing money means no one is a friend. Dee was put up because she decided to throw the comp. When a ally makes a mistake, that can put you at risk, you have to let them go.

Tre Billis

Isn’t Taylor the target?

un autre nom

Okay. Tried to do a test run started after episode. We’re going to do a test until i get that feeling, and when it hits turn them off again. Good thing i had a good day.
went on feeds.
Dee was puffing up behind closed doors about how ‘they are talking ashit about me in d/r. Come say it to my face.’
Is she saying that to their faces? No. behind closed doors.

Aaaand…
Tinfoil me wants to know:
Is that an admission that d/r monkeys are giving you, ms. stuntcast, a low down on what people are saying? Inquiring minds.
I sorta wish there was a category beyond nope.

From a game play point of view:
She nominated 2 people she was in an alliance with when one of them was HOH. it was real as hell then, but now it was always fake.
She nominated an alliance member since day 2.
She wants to renominate another alliance member since last week.
She should have just aimed at the trio of Yash Taylor and LaTrice OR aimed at FAP.
nope. not Dee.
Still think tinfoil me is on to something thinking this nom board is actually production sponsored attempt to divide the audience. put up 2 poc houseguests so that there is outrage, which is lessened when two fan fave vote getters are the targets. A portion of the audience will be saying ok, at least it’s not LaLa or Tay. Divide the viewers by their own bias and use it. It’s happened before. I feel like Grod is playing in our faces.

ON SCHEDULE…
Barrett / Dee. He thinks body contact and the tone of his voice works on…. had to delete a bunch of unkind words… this woman. Sideye. I know his strategy was house flirt… but flirting to gain trust without using that trust to advance your game is stupid.
He’s selling out FAP while weakly lying to protect Drew while in even weaker terms saying the renom should be Haley…. but he isn’t going to be declarative in any way shape or form because… as an introvert the fact that i am saying this is wild… This spineless Gerbil just wants Dee to liiiiike him.
Great speech to Jury. Hey Barrett name a move you made in the game? I told Dee i like her, so please vote for her to win instead of me.
the strategic analyst in me weeps. what a twat.
the complete waste believes her when she says Taylor is the target. OR will AT LEAST go along with it. Because Barrett does NOTHING in the game but do everything in his power to be Dee’s number one drag along goat to finale. Meh. snipe him in an eviction vote he’s pointless. I know i know. Dee is so self involved and lacking in ownership of her narcissism that she can’t even comprehend that Barrett would be mad at her (must be Drew’s fault)… but WHAT DOES HE DOOOOOO WITH THAT. NOTHING.
To be frank: do you know why Dee needs others to tell her what is going on in the house? SHE COULD NOT GIVE TWO SHITS ABOUT GETTING OUT OF BED HALF THE WEEK TO ACTUALLY SOCIALIZE AND FIND OUT FOR HERSELF. Barrett could royally snow her and she would believe it. He doesn’t.

All my thoughts about this week are pointless. Beyond the mobbing issue… I know that Grod has that new twist coming. Geeee i wonder who THAT benefits.

Basic thought: this will not be one of those casts that do a group chat after the season. They are more likely the cast that goes out of their way to spread the hate.

still spitballing loopholes for Yash.
Keep us three safe all week. So if Yash wins HOH and tells everyone that a stunt isn’t his target he doesn’t want them to vote the stunt out… and puts one stunt on the block with 2 other people…. has he not done all he could do? He told them to keep the stunt safe. if they choose not to… oops. Chance of likelihood it passes Grod: less than 1 percent.

Mooning

This should have been as easy HOH. Lala, Taylor and Yash. Haley if someone comes down. Deven set up an easy road to finale for the icons. Then Dee screwed it up. Sure it makes people wonder if production is running the show from the diary room. . They have done some very shady things in the past. …. People I watch with also think the house makes people a little crazy. They stop thinking clearly. Make unreasonable decisions..

un autre nom

Her intent was always FAP. She was shining Devens on. Devens wanted MoshPIT to work one more week…. until he didn’t after veto. Until Devens said go for Mallory, she was in a conundrum.

d...

i don’t understand dee’s hoh reign at all. she had a group of 7 going into the week with 11 houseguests remaining. pretty easy to pick 3 of the other 4 as noms and then have a renom option, and of the 9 houseguests elligible to compete in the next hoh, you’re working with two thirds of them.

instead she blows up that alliance for shaky deals with yash and haley (who really should’ve been her obvious targets) and only has two people competing in the next hoh that would definitely keep her and her core alliance safe with a very clear target on her back for everyone else.

Bib Budders

Classic Survivor moves

Gan ainm

So, you say you don’t understand Dee’s HOH reign?
Please allow me to explain, if you will.
She’s stupid.
But don’t worry, they’ll fix that in production.

Tre Billis

How is she stupid? I don’t see it. Dee and Devins came into the house with targets on their backs and rather than target them everyone wants to align with them. Is Dee and Devins not the favorites to win?

Gan ainm

Who is left to align with? They have now burned everyone and only have each other now to keep them safe. But what am I saying, they have production to keep them safe so your right, it doesn’t matter.

SkydiverMacGyver

Prod are of course feeding information to every HG, and has done so for ages. From Chat:

A producer might ask something like:

“How confident are you that Cody is actually loyal to you?”

Even without saying “Cody is coming after you,” that question can immediately make a player think:

“Wait…why are they asking me about Cody?”

That’s one of the recurring complaints former HGs have made.

Christine from BB16 made some of the strongest claims

Christine Varner/Brecht from BB16 has been unusually outspoken about it. She has said that by several weeks into her season, some of her Diary Room material was essentially being fed to her word-for-word, and she’d have to redo lines if she didn’t deliver them correctly. She also claimed that repeated questions about Derrick and Cody tipped her off that something was happening with them.

That’s a much bigger deal strategically.

It doesn’t require a producer saying:

“Derrick and Cody are targeting you.”

If they suddenly spend 30 minutes asking:

“Do you trust Derrick?”
“Could Derrick beat you?”
“What happens if Cody wins HOH?”

…an intelligent HG can figure out that production has a reason for focusing on it.

Former players describe a lot of “prompting”

Claire Rehfuss from BB23 has also discussed how DR prompting works. Players are asked questions and need to answer them in a way that allows the producer’s question to be removed from the broadcast. That’s one reason modern DRs sometimes sound unnatural or “scripted.”

So when you hear:

“When I walked into the backyard and saw the giant hot dogs, I knew this competition was going to be crazy!”

the producer may have said something much more mundane like:

“Tell me what you saw when you walked into the backyard.”

They’ll also have HGs explain rules, repeat things, increase their energy, clarify strategy and sometimes redo an answer so editors have a usable soundbite.

What they’re not normally supposed to receive

They aren’t supposed to be routinely told things such as:

* “Matt and Rachel made a Final 2 last night.”

* “Here are the live-feed poll results.”

They’re intentionally isolated from news, television, internet, phones and normal outside communication.

But there’s a gray area between revealing information and asking leading questions. That’s where most of the controversy comes from.

And because HGs know producers have been watching every conversation in the house, a strangely specific DR question carries information by itself.

This is why great players sometimes “read production”

This actually becomes another layer of Big Brother strategy.

A very perceptive HG can think:

“Production hasn’t asked me about Sarah all week. Suddenly I’ve gotten five Sarah questions today. Something must be happening.”

Players have talked about noticing things like who is getting called to the DR frequently, how long people stay in there, what topics producers suddenly seem interested in, and whether the tone of questioning changes.

Production tries to prevent HGs from openly comparing DR sessions—the familiar “You are not allowed to talk about your Diary Room sessions with other Houseguests” rule exists partly for this reason. CBS’s behind-the-scenes reporting confirms that production actively enforces rules about discussing production.

So I wouldn’t say production is sitting there telling HGs what’s happening in the game. But the DR absolutely isn’t an information vacuum either. Producers know everything happening in the house, and the questions they choose to ask can unintentionally—or, according to some former HGs, sometimes intentionally—give a savvy player clues.

d….

Oh yes, it’s classic production manipulation to question the loyalty of players production want you to turn on while glazing the players they want you to work with. Good players usually see through this though. Production desperately wanted Derrick to turn on Cody and work with Donnie and Frankie. I thought Dee would be savvy enough to recognize this

hernanda

Her move is clever.
-Drew + Mallory + Melody + Barret + Angela odds of winning combined is all of the hole in a donut.
-If Devens didn’t win, Angela goes on the block, he alliance of 7 would have 4 who want to lose the next HoH to get her out.
-Yash wins she’s safe
-Haley wins she’s safe,
-Haley and Yash are more likely to win than the all of her 6 combined. It isn’t about numbers, but winning odds. Haley, Yash, Lala, all won Hoh, Lala just won Veto beating Drew.
-Why would Dee want to align with a side who can’t win, over the side who want half the HOHs to this point.

Paul Sucks

Mallory is upset she is going on the block?!?!? Maybe you should have won HOH. For goodness sake, Dee made 2 laps around the track to set her time. Devens demonstrated a 30 second time was 100% possible. M & M are to scared to play the game. Send them packing, what’s the point?

SkydiverMacGyver

I couldn’t agree more. They’ve seriously turned into the duo that just floats for fun.

Steveo

100% CORRECT! People are mad at Dee because everyone else is so terrible.

Opinion Overload

At some point you have to stop waiting for the group to hold your hand and figure out how to play the game. Mallory gets told she might go up and the Gen Z Paradox immediately kicks in. Cue the crying circle and collective emotional processing. Big Brother is supposed to be stressful. We keep this up Prod and you may need to start bringing therapists into the house for the teenagers.

Opinion Overload

Drew picks up Melody and says, “Let me hold you like a baby.” Waaaaaaaaaaaaaaa

Mooning

Drew really just a sweet young guy, with great hair, who had no clue how to play in the middle. When caught he had no idea what to say or how to respond to defend himself and divert attention to someone else. Takes a good liar to play the middle.

Art Vandalay

I hope Drew goes bald when he’s older. Enough with the hair.

Tre Billis

Before we get too hard on Mallory and Melody. They wanted to vote out Angela, but Drew and Barrett would not go along with it. They did not have the votes. I do agree..WIN AN HOH FOR GODSAKE! But other than that they have never been in a position.

Opinion Overload

Dee’s HOH has turned into a massive test for the Mosh Pit. She put up Drew, Taylor, and LaLa. LaLa won the veto, and now Mallory looks like the likely replacement. On top of that, Dee’s side deal with Yash makes targeting him nearly impossible this week.

Mallory is the big story
Mallory going up is massive. She and Melody were already questioning whether Yash might actually be a better option for them than the Icons, and now Mallory is about to be nominated by her own alliance. That turns mild distrust into active incentive to flip.

The Mosh Pit breaking
Drew and Barrett are trying not to blow the alliance up, while Mallory and Melody are visibly panicking about their position. Meanwhile, Devens is in full damage-control mode to keep the whole structure from collapsing on Dee’s watch.

Everyone sees the writing on the wall, but nobody wants to make the first move and stick their neck out.

Dee drew her line in the sand
Dee is clearly far more protective of Drew and Barrett than she is of Mallory and Melody.

The Mosh Pit might technically be seven people, but in reality, it breaks down like this:

Core: Dee, Devens, Drew, Barrett, Angela

Expendable: Mallory, Melody

Yash gets a free pass
Drew still views Yash as the top threat, but Dee’s deal completely handcuffs them. Yash likely survives the week simply because Dee boxed herself into a corner. Pretty ironic given how desperate the house was to get him out.

Devens playing firefighter
Devens is managing the fallout with Mallory and Melody while trying to keep Dee from digging a deeper hole. Smart play: if the alliance implodes right now, next week becomes an immediate revenge tour against Dee and Devens.

Winners & Losers

Winner – Devens: Keeping the wheels on and staying firmly in control.
Winner – Drew: Confirmed as one of Dee’s top priorities.
Winner – Yash: Huge threat who is somehow walking away unscathed.
Loser – Mallory: Transitioned from side-line skeptic to target on the block.
Loser – Melody: About to lose her closest ally or be forced into a hard pivot.
Danger – Dee: Holding the power, but openly exposing her true hierarchy.

Dee is going to put up Mallory. Just like Devens, she’s a risk-taker who isn’t afraid to make a aggressive move when she thinks it gives her an edge.

But this is an all-or-nothing play. The moment Mallory hits that block, the bridge is completely burnt. If Dee nominates her, it becomes absolutely imperative that Mallory actually goes home, because if Mallory survives the vote, Dee guarantees herself a dangerous, highly motivated enemy with zero reason to stay loyal.

Treating Mallory and Melody like they’re disposable only works if you finish the job. If Mallory goes up and stays, she and Melody immediately sprint to Yash and the outsiders to build a counter-alliance.

Tre Billis

Oh come on! Mallory is no more dangerous than Taylor. Taylor should go. Dee could at least say her target was Taylor. Mallory would be dumb to buy it, but Mallory is no more dangerous than Taylor.

Rubber Ducky For The Win

Is Mallory seriously in bed cowering under the covers and crying?!? Grow up, girl! Time to put on your adult big girl pants and play the game!

Opinion Overload

Why can’t the younger ones act normal? Because they are basically teenagers. IMO, BB need to increase the age of participants in the future.

Baby Boomers: (Born 1946–1964 | Current Age: 62–80). Reached adult independence by age 20–21. Fast-tracked straight into careers and homeownership.

Gen X: (Born 1965–1980 | Current Age: 46–61). Reached independence by age 21–22. Raised as “latchkey kids,” forcing early real-world self-sufficiency.

Millennials: (Born 1981–1996 | Current Age: 30–45). Delayed independence to age 25–26. Higher education demands and rising costs pushed timelines back.

Gen Z: (Born 1997–2012 | Current Age: 14–29). Projected to hit full independence around age 28–29.

Bottom line: Gen Z isn’t lazy; the ramp-up to functional independence has simply doubled in length. Today’s 21-year-old structurally looks and acts much closer to a 16-year-old from Gen X.

From the older crowd, we have to bite our tongues right!? However, this much harder to do than Mallory holding back her tears!

Tre Billis

Yeah, because Lala is acting so mature.

whywecanthavenicethings

Let’s not forget Angela, who has far less emotional regulation than each of my three kids had by age 21.

I noticed something.
It is in regard to Taylor.

Does anyone remember what I was talking about last season about Kat?
She was invisible from feeds a lot, and when she would appear she would say things that dropped the curtain on production (ie/ the only reason i am here is to be Riley’s storyline just like you’re only here to give Rachel more storlyine she said to Ava like 3 times).
I was getting a little bit of that from Taylor last night.
She was ostensibly invisible on feeds for the night except for a convo with LaLa and a small exchange with Mallory and Yash. I missed the Yash one.
To LaLa:
they were saying they’d prefer Drew go.
But Taylor said, yeah but Mallory’s going
The Icons want Mallory out so she’s out.
To Mallory:
She was saying it sucks but we both know this is the Icons season and so we can’t do anything because one of them is winning anyway.

Now, maybe this is defeatism.
Maybe this is Taylor pissed with the last 72 hours and dropping the curtain.

Note:
Taylor also talked about what might be said in d/r to Haley to give Haley a chance to get ahead of it. Devens later told Angela it was a race discussion (feeds went off it).
It almost feels like she is now clocking in to a 9/5, and delivering what content they want in a two hour allotment and then saying okay back home, and climbing back into bed. Anything past that and she’s dropping the production mask. That’s what if FEELS like to ME.

Do I think Taylor is over the pretense… or Taylor is just defeated mentally right now because of the last few days?

Both.

Missy

I hope Taylor wins blockbuster or it be funny Jury starts Thursday lol. But I hope Taylor thwarts their plans and it’s free against Mallory. Mmm and then Taylor or La La win hoh and out all 3 icons up

Another Dixie

I actually am enjoying the Icons, probably because I really don’t like any of the rest. However, like everyone else, I know they are getting preferential treatment to keep them in the game. I just wish one would be eliminated, preferably Dee, to get those others actually playing the game. And it would be fun to see Devens sweating instead of running everything. I actually want all 3 out just so we can see if this group could actually play this game without someone holding their hands.

Contention of Motivation.
So in my assessment… Devens realllllllllly wants that AFP prize.
Take that as my launch pad.
We’ve watched him say getting Mosh Pit together as all the fanvote winners would be a thank you to the fans.
This is shameless pandering.
So…. why did he decide ‘let’s target Mallory.’
It’s not FAP imo. Drew leaving would have done that. (uh oh… flirtmance gone or entertainer gone… which one does Grod choose to help her stuntcasts)
So. Why?
The minute Mallory started having her imaginary trips that the houseguests were joining… the die was cast.
She was entertaining.
She threatens his AFP desire.
She gotta go.
NOTICE how none of the trips with the camera involvement in the fun have made it to the edit. Odd. Unless…. mmmhmmm.
We’ve watched the stunts pander for the cameras HOW many times?
We’ve watched their overblown egos on display for weeks.
Tell me this isn’t part of the equation.

On a NORMAL season… we would see d/r using leading questions to stimulate game movement in the direction of storyline. IS THIS A NORMAL SEASON?
We’ve seen that 3 stuntcasts have been given a ticket to jury with HOH manipulations and prizes from votes that only THEY got. Shush that never not is a joke. We saw that the cylinders are already in the chair when they spin… so the prize is already determined. There aren’t 12 cylinders in that chair. To be a fly on the wall when it is one of the stuntcasts in the chair putting on false face and pandering to the audience (see Devens respectfully inclusion in the LaLa Heley thing when Devens has been a ringleader of the mob mentality) makes me wonder what is being said to them in their d/r since Devens has already admitted that d/r is the reason he doesn’t trust Drew.

Part of me is… disappointed that Mallory did not go for another meeting with Dee to try to convince Dee not to nominate her. HOWEVER, given the entire house knows the plan and Dee would only take it as a victory lap for screentime Iplaying with her food while it cries) the image would look like shit on the episode anyway. Given the number of times we have seen Mallory interact with the stunts willingly… it was never going to happen. Her one on ones with them are few and far between.
There is nothing she could have said or done anyway, so what would be the point. Looks at reader… what, she could have altered Dee that has wanted Mosh Pit destroyed since the day Devens used the dpov? No.
Mallory does not seek out the stunts, and Dee especially expects everyone to come to her.

Barrett. Why. what incentive does he have to milquetoast so much? Oh… Dee and Devens have both talked to him about career opportunities they could network for him with their connections outside of the house? Oh. You don’t say.

UN AUTRE NOM   Where do you come up with all your excellent, honest, factual, on-point comments? I’ve watched the live cameras a few times, a true waste of the small amount of time I have left to live. I agree that the prizes in the chair have been pre-selected for the person “selected by viewers”. Selected by viewers. Right. And I have a great ocean view from my patio (in central WA state). Wondering, are the various contests rigged to help insure that prodo’s choice has a distinct advantage to win?

BB has really gone downhill the past few years since they bring players from other programs or seasons. My favorite this year is Mallory. She has, and I had, a highly technical background. Sadly, I’ll miss her after Thursdays episode.

My hope is that D, D, & A get evicted starting next week.
UN AUTRE NOM Keep your excellent comments coming.

I am usually in my studio painting up to 16 hours a day. there is a lot of time spent wating for layers of paint to dry. So i am in my head a lot while listening to a playlist (today’s is a mix of 70’s glam, 80’s new wave and post punk, 90’s grunge and late 90’s trance along with an odd smattering of Turkish electrofunk, ska, and Icelandic whateverthehellthatis… it’s a four hour playlist) and watching feeds while trying to understand the difference between what we see in the episodes and what we see online.
I’m not sure if i’m good or right… but i have opinions and that’s what we’re all here for.

Plain

I noticed no episodes for the bus and plane improve. If folks that only watch the episodes don’t know they can’t vote. I really want Mallory to stay. So bobbing for apples…

Mooning

Deven made the big move. The icons could have coasted to the finale. Then Dee decided to screw it all up because she was overthinking the next moves and trying to out move Devens big move. Ridiculous.

ButtersMom

I hope Mallory gets out and Melody loses her ever loving mind OUT LOUD to the whole house… I hope Drew joins her in that rant and its all out war in the house! That would be fun for once. I miss Brittany Haynes .. wheres a giant teddy bear to beat up when you need one?!

Mooning

OMG! Her renom is Mallory. She saved Yash. Paid him $5,000. She put up Drew who was with her. Dee is begging to go home.

Opinion Overload

Mallory: Bro Dee’s such a f***ing b***h, like I hate her
Melody: She’s a coward. This isn’t Survivor b***h

So Dee’s a coward for making a move that hurts them. Coming from those two who have spent weeks identifying the problems in their alliance and doing nothing about them is a bit rich. Back to the play room kids.

I’ll add, that Melody is a nasty girl and probably the foulest mouthed person on the show. Unfortunately for Mallory she’s been dragged into her orbit and is now paying the price.

ButtersMom

Mallory is just as dark as Melody

Joshua

While the majority of this season has been full of drama and decent, the icon thing has messed the season up for me. I can see having two in the house, but 3 makes the season worthless! Especially when production gives them powers and the powers given to the newbies are no slop this late in the game. Absolutely, pointless to watch when you can tell who they want in jury and who they don’t. Kamu would have been good to keep last week. Haley should’ve gone, she’s trash! Angela is a lame duck player that doesn’t deserve the credit she gets from production. Devens has played a decent game even without the DPV. Dee is a total dipshit constantly going against her alliances, how the hell is she still there? Barrett is total trash although likeable as a person, he’s a shit player. Drew is a moron that can’t keep his mouth shut to all the wrong people. Mallory and Melody are no better than Taylor and Lala that completely isolate themselves to each other outside of kissing the HOH ass when they are in power. I swear they pick the stupidest morons to be on this show for entertainment and the competition part of the show is shit! I’ve watched for years with some breaks in between seasons because of the constant crap contestants.

Steveo

Mallory needs to blow up the 7 person alliance as well as blow up Barrett and Drew’s games. It’s time she started playing the game.

Spittballs.
Possible Twists:
1) Survivor week. ho hum
BUT
for years I mentioned that it seemed like bbcan was a betatest for twists to be used or not used (depending on how they landed) for bbus.
There’s still a few of those that have not been used.
The Murder Mystery concept that was used in the last 2 seasons is an example. It was sort of like sequester safety chain.
The Reverse Week from season i wanna say 5?
Secret HOH. The concept could be used this season.

Reason:
while it was altered for bbus they have used the staple triple eviction from bbcan and other elements (happily they never adopted the instant eviction that I can remember because a no veto just hoh, noms and eviction in 24 hours realllllllly sucked).

ANOTHER POSSIBILITY:
The honchos seem to be worried about the popularity of Traitors.
What if the HOH was the traitor. secret HOH, and the houseguests had to figure out who the HOH was, voting at the end of the week to remove the houseguest they think is the HOH. they could still do a veto in that because there are shields in Traitors.
Here’s the logistic spin i’m thinking of.
HOH is secret.
nominates 2 or 3 hg.
a veto is played. shielding one of the nominees? hmmm. no renom.
at end of week… they vote roundtable face up on who they believe is HOH. if they are correct the HOH has to join the other 2 noms in the block buster. narrows down to 2 noms. house votes.
Just a thought because i realllllly don’t want a survivor week. Like I’d rather listen to Haley talk about peptides for an hour… that’s how bad i do not want a survivor week.

whoknows

Yes, mistakes have been made, but I’m still rooting for Mallory. I wish she would revert to the more straight shooter Mallory from a couple weeks ago. Subterfuge isn’t her forte. Sucking up to the icons is cringe. Just win the blockbuster.

janet

I was a fan of Dee’s but she has turned this HOH into being a bully and I really really HATE bullies, like Haley. She could have softened the blow to Mallory by saying you’re not my target and don’t worry. No she was mean and just said you’re coming for me, so I’m coming for you. They are ALL coming for the icons, not just Mallory. She needed her last week, then she dumps her like a hot potato this week. There is alot of bulling going round in that house.
