Big Brother 28 spoilers: Lyric is evicted 8-3 and the feeds come back with Haley Thogmartin in the Have Not room trying to work out who lied to her. Kamuela “Kamu” Kirk swears on everything that he voted to evict Melody Morris. Rick Devens walks in and admits straight out that he voted Lyric, and explains he was told at the last second the whole house had already moved. Haley runs the numbers out loud, clears the two people who actually flipped on her, and names the one person in the room telling her the truth.

6:31 PM – Kamu and Haley (Have Not Room)
Kamu is already mid-oath when the feeds return.
Kamu: “I promise you. I promise you. I will promise on whatever you want me to.”
Haley runs through names – herself, Taylor, Lala, the Icons.
Haley: “She’s the only one that’s-“
Kamu: “Melody?”
Haley: “Yes.”
Kamu: “I voted to evict. I promise you.”
Haley: “I know, but I’m – Chuk wouldn’t have voted to evict Lyric. He loves that girl.”
Haley: “And Angela, I know for a fact, is not lying to me, and I know for a fact Dee’s not lying.”
Kamu: “There was a group that met earlier.”
Haley: “Who was the group?”
Kamu: “I don’t know. I was just told there was a group that met earlier.”
Haley: “I told Barrett specifically yesterday. I said, if you didn’t hear it from me, I’m not changing my vote. And he didn’t come up and say anything.”
Kamu: “Yeah, I feel like, obviously, look, I think that.. people were talking, and then the house decided to switch, and then not everybody got a chance to talk before the live show.”
Haley: “We had more than plenty of time.”
Kamu: “Yeah, well, all I’m saying is that I was told that, like, oh, dude, I thought you knew, whatever, right?”
Haley: “You don’t think that makes it weird that me, you, Angela and Chuk didn’t know? And Dee.”
Kamu: “No, of course I think it’s weird. Of course I think it’s weird.”
Kamu: “We have to try to figure out the numbers and who maybe rallied who and who came together, because eight people.. and there are only three. And I know that I voted out Melody. I know that, obviously. I know that because I did it. But the other two, I don’t know.”
Haley: “So why did you come up to me and ask me earlier if I was mad at you?”
Kamu: “Because you seemed upset this morning. And I was just asking you if you were upset with me for some reason. Because I saw that it looked like you were a little bit, I don’t know, to yourself. That’s why I asked you this morning, I said, are you good? And you’re like, yeah. And then when we were at the table, I was just being playful. I didn’t think that you were actually mad at me, but I was like, are you mad at me? But that was more like just me being playful with you.”
6:34 PM – Devens joins (Have Not Room)
Kamu: “Like I said, I will swear.”
Devens walks in.
Kamu: “What up, man? You can join us if you want. I will swear to you on whatever you need. I voted Melody.”
Haley: “I just want to know what conversation that me, Chuk, you and Devens weren’t a part of. You were in it.”
Devens: “I voted to evict Lyric.”
Haley: “But where did that-“
Devens: “It was like literally the whole other side of the house was coming up when we were getting ready at the last second and saying that that was where the vote was. And they said that it was a unanimous thing, basically, that everyone was going to be on that side of the vote. And I was under the impression that you all were in it, especially you six, really, including Yash.”
Haley: “I told Barrett specifically, if you don’t hear it from me, it’s not true. And now he’s acting out there really confused, and so is Yash. Yash is the one that said he wanted Mallory and Drew out. So for him to not get one or the other..”
Haley: “Five of us are saying that we voted to evict Melody, and that’s clearly not true.”
Kamu: “I promise, like, on everything, I voted to take Melody. I was confused at the end of the vote. I promise you. At one point, I was the one that suggested, hey, maybe we take out Lyric. I came up with that idea. So why would I go against the alliance to save her when I was the one suggesting that we take her out because I thought she was a bigger competition threat?”
Haley: “Yeah.”
Kamu: “Like, I promise you. I voted for Melody.”
Devens: “I believe that. I believe that.”
Haley: “So then who’s lying, Chuk, Dee or Angela?”
Devens: “Chuk?”
Haley: “Chuk, Dee or Angela, they all said they voted. So who’s lying?”
Devens: “Or Yash, right?”
Haley: “Yash also said he was voting.”
Devens: “So two of those four voted differently than they said they did?”
Haley: “Mm-hmm.”
Devens: “I don’t know, but I kind of believe Kamu over all of them, honestly.”
Kamu: “Dude, I swear, no joke, I was cool with however the vote went.”
Haley: “Lyric’s the better player. That’s it. She’s the better player. It is what it is. However, Melody’s the only one talking about swinging. So we just better hope that her and Mallory don’t win it.”
Devens: “That’s the good news.”
Haley: “I know. That’s it. We just better hope. But we also better be very clear that there is a crack somewhere.”
Kamu: “Totally.”
Haley: “Very clear.”
Kamu: “Listen, I mean, I know there’s no way I can prove it.”
Haley: “I know. I’m not mad.”
Kamu: “But I swear I voted too. No joke. Devens and I, we had a private conversation in the HOH room. We talked yesterday. I was cool with how the vote went.”
Devens: “I’m gonna jump out of it. Okay, but I’m sorry, this whole thing got screwed up.”
Kamu: “I was cool with however it went. It wouldn’t make sense for me to go against the alliance to vote to keep Lyric. I was the one that was suggesting that we take her out.”
Haley: “That just makes me nervous for all of us if we all think that we’re trusting everybody. That’s very odd.”
Kamu: “Yeah, no, I’m with you, because obviously I’m trying to figure out who the crack is too.”
Kamu: “And I think that there are going to be a lot of conversations that are going to be had, especially depending on who wins HOH.”
Haley: “Okay. I trust you 100%.”
Kamu: “I freaking swear. I promise. Like, I promise you.”
Haley: “I truly think that the votes came from you, Angela and Dee.”
Kamu: “I swear to you.”
Haley: “I know. But it, like, makes the most sense.”
Haley: “And I already told you my concerns with the other guy, not Devens, in the alliance.”
Haley: “It is what it is. But Lyric is a better competitor, so I guess it’s not really a wash.”
Haley: “It just sucks because I never would have thought that it would have – if it would have been even closer, like, say it was, like, four to whatever, seven, I’d be like, okay, one, two, three, four, I got it. And then we’d know. But the fact that it’s either Angela, Dee or the other person..”
Kamu: “Like I said, I think depending on who wins HOH.”
Haley: “The cards are going to show real quick.”
Kamu: “Yeah. And then we’ll see. We’ll see noms tomorrow.”
Haley: “I’m going to take this off.”
Big Brother 28 spoilers: an hour after Lyric’s eviction, Yash and Chuk sit down at the chess table and try to reverse-engineer the vote. Both of them voted to evict Melody Morris. Both of them know two of the five people claiming a Melody vote are lying. Yash works out exactly why somebody would lie about it, Chuk narrows the third honest vote down to two names, and between them they build a case against the one person in the house who actually told the truth.
7:25 PM – Yash and Chuk (Chess Table)
Yash: “I put it on my brother’s life, dude. I put it on my sister’s life.”
Yash: “Kamu’s crying when she left, but I said, I can’t cry. I hugged her. I said, I told her.”
Chuk: “I did ask her. Before she hugged me, before we went to go vote, she said, am I good, Chuk? And I said, you’re fine.”
Yash: “That crew, that crew are frauds. They’re frauds.”
Chuk: “Everyone you’re in the bathroom with?”
Yash: “No. These motherf—ers. Bro. Bro. Angela, Kamu, Dee.”
Yash: “Two of them are lying.”
Chuk: “The fact that they’re lying.”
Yash: “They’re frauds. Two of them are lying, because if you’re telling the truth-“
Chuk: “You know, we wanted to keep Lyric more than anybody in the house.”
Chuk: “If Melody went to HOH, I would be seeing my face on there. If Lyric went to HOH, I can sleep another week.”
Chuk: “Dude, someone’s lying to me, and they’re lying to my face, and I can tell.”
Yash: “How much can you trust Kamu?”
Chuk: “He’s very cheery right now.”
Yash: “Which is f—ing weird.”
Chuk: “He’s calm and cheery. He’s checking on Melody already.”
Yash: “Which is weird.”
Chuk: “He’s so worried about Melody.”
Chuk: “I’m not stupid, and I wasn’t born yesterday, and just because you’re 32 does not mean we’re just gonna be like this, yay.”
Yash: “He’s moving weird.”
Chuk: “He’s moving weird.”
Yash: “He’s sitting there laughing.”
Chuk: “This is his first time where he’s moving weird.”
Chuk: “I really want to get Haley up here, too.”
Chuk: “Devens said that you heard that it switched last minute.”
Yash: “Yeah.”
Chuk: “And it accidentally-“
Yash: “But it must have. It must have.”
Chuk: “It must have. But we did not know about it. Because he told me that.”
Yash: “The two liars. That means the two liars are also in the loop.”
Yash starts laying it out.
Yash: “Think about this, right? Okay, let’s say you’re Haley. This is Haley, right? You have five people around you. You think these are your closest five, right? In no order. She’s going to believe you.”
Chuk: “There’s no way in hell I would have kept Melody.”
Chuk: “Keep your eyes open. I’m about to tell you another one, too. Keep your eyes open.”
Yash: “I’m gonna.”
Yash: “I’m dead ass, and I told everybody in this b—- what I did. I voted Melody out.”
Yash: “But now look, now let’s play this game, right? Angela, Kamu, Dee and me.”
Chuk: “You know who I think voted Melody out? Me, you and Angela.”
Yash: “You think Angela?”
Chuk: “I think Angela would never.”
Yash: “You think she’s lying?”
Chuk: “It changes, because I’ve been sniffing her out, and she would never ride against Haley, because she’s like, I need Haley.”
Chuk: “I think it’s me, you and Angela.”
Yash: “But you have to remember, the reason someone would lie – the only reason someone would lie is because they want to go against Haley to preserve the relationship with Haley. Which means, and I know it’s not you, but it means whoever is close with her is going to flip it and lie, because she will believe them.”
Chuk: “Correct.”
Yash: “Think about it. Think about it.”
Yash: “I already know there are people who might think it’s me. I told her. I voted for Melody.”
Yash: “And logically, there would be no reason for me to vote Melody. If I wanted to go with the other side, I could have easily done it.”
Chuk: “Why is Kamu so chill? Why is he so calm?”
Yash: “Also, why did Angela be the first person to go run to talk to Haley when we were by the coffee maker? Who was the first person to pull to her side?”
Yash: “Dee looked surprised. Dee looked surprised.”
Chuk: “Dee looked surprised, bro.”
Chuk: “Here’s the thing. This is what I think. I think me, you and Angela voting to evict Melody. And then the other universe is, it is me, you and Dee. So it’s either or is lying to me.”
Yash: “I think Kamu is definitely lying.”
Chuk: “Oh, he’s lying to me. Okay. And that hurts my heart. That hurts my heart.”
Yash: “I know.”
Chuk: “He’s lying to me. I think so.”
Yash: “He’s too laughing.”
Chuk: “He’s never been like this at any eviction.”
Yash: “And he was the first person – I heard three days ago, the first one I heard, he said Lyric’s a threat. He was the first person, and I was like, we don’t want that. That tells me.”
Chuk: “Because he doesn’t see Melody as a threat. He doesn’t. And he’s someone, he tries to get the threat out. We’ve seen it. He doesn’t see Melody as a threat.”
Chuk: “I know he’s lying to me, and I’m going to tell you, I can only tell you this because I know what you’re telling me.”
Chuk: “I know he’s lying to me and I could sniff it out when we’re sitting down.”
Chuk: “Stop for a f—ing pizza. I don’t give a damn about pizza.”
Chuk: “I knew he was lying to me, and when he was sitting in the chair, I was just looking at him, and he knew I knew he was lying to me.”
Chuk: “I don’t care. Just because you’re 32 doesn’t mean that you’re going to want this shit.”
Feeds cut.
Yash: “We’re on the same page about that, though. And bro, I’ll tell you why, another reason why. Kamu likes the big splash. He likes the splash. He loves it. And he hates threats. This is the perfect way to frame a threat. You lie, say you told the truth.”
Yash: “Your turn. This is why I like – wait, was it your turn? I think it might be your turn. I don’t know.”
Chuk: “It feels like it’s 2 a.m. What’s happening? Oh my god.”

red corner on the outs. this could be interesting. icons realized haley, kamu, and chuk were making too many enemies and too hard to control, so i guess they opted to flip. still feels like prodo meddling. how can rome and lyric go on the amazing race if lyric hooks up with someone else in the house?

Sometimes when you have a large alliance a strategy is to take out some members early. Usual reasons would be personality clashes, a good competitor, or a discovery that someone is in good with everyone. It’s a bold but risky move to do this. Haley took a swing for Drew and missed, so did her alliance turn on her by not taking out her other intended target? From what I could gather The Red Corner was invited into the Toolshed to have the big alliance running the game, but TRC knew they were on the bottom of that alliance. So I think it made sense to target Drew. However, Haley’s biggest mistake IMO was her hubris. It was like she said, “I have the power, this is what I want, do what I want. If you don’t like it tough.” She may have been unapoligetically herself, but part of playing a game like BB is knowing when to dial it back or if you can’t have someone in your alliance make your wishes known in a softer way. If she had done this, I think she may have gotten what she wanted. It will be interesting to see how this week plays out for her.

Guess Yash didn’t believe Drew when he gave him the heads-up and now he’s afraid to admit he was given advance notice and didn’t warn them. OOPS. Yes, Drew talk-blocked him by following him but STILL there had to be at least a moment or 2 where he could have warned at least one of the others btwn being told and the actual vote (like w/in2 hours after being told). Yash had at least time to warn Chuk in the voting walkway b/c Yash voted and passed Chuk in the walkway but like I said, he must have not believed Drew. GOOD JOB DREW! OR he DID believe him and still voted out Lyric and left the others out in the cold on PURPOSE so he could throw shade…but I’m not sure he is smart enough for that idea.
Make it make sense. Yash, who has been on the minority side the entire time, is now fighting for a spot among the former majority/now minority with tonight’s blindside. How do you have the thought, ‘hey you know what would be a great move? Jumping from a minority to a smaller minority.’ He easily could have pretended to vote with the majority but earning the trust of Chuk is more important. I’m confused.

It makes sense since Kamu doesn’t see Melody as a serious threat.
At least not more than the people who he was aligned with who turned on him (Devins/Dee/Angela) that now he probably thinks are after him, Chuk, Haley, and Yash.
So if he wins HOH a second time he should target the three strongest people left who he doesn’t 100% trust.
And clearly that is Devins and Dee for sure. The third strongest is a pick between Drew, Mallory, or Taylor.
So in no scenario would someone like Melody or Latrice ever go on the block for a Kamu HOH. Probably same goes for Angela since she is so weak compared to others. Barrett is also seemingly not an immediate comp threat.
If he’s smart he tries to make deals with the people he spares to get out a Survivor player. Offer Mallory/Taylor/Latrice safety so that they can come together at least for that week to get out a Survivor player.
Of course he doesn’t know about the Diamond Power of Veto that would surely ruin his plans but it still might lead to Dee’s eviction. Although Haley or Chuk would likely be Devin’s pick for replacement nominee when or if he used his Diamond POV so unless Devin’s Kamu ally choice won Blockbuster they likely would be voted out. That is unless Kamu and co really did a good job of making deals/alliances with voters like Latrice/Taylor/Mallory.
This HOH is pivotal and should really shake up the game. I’m happy Drew survived and the game got spiced up with this partial blindside.
Why does the head of household think they have any power after the veto ceremony?
i always ask that myself and yet everyone acts like the hoh still has power after the veto ceremony almost every time.
the hoh’s job is not to nominate people, it is to keep people safe. early that means a lot of people you’re keeping safe. as numbers go down they keep less and less people safe. the nominees are not targets, they are people you don’t care about keeping safe.
haley decided she didn’t want to keep drew safe, despite having more than enough options to do so. this made people nervous about their own safety working with her and thus they flipped. that’s what really happened, and it’s a byproduct of the frequent misunderstanding of how being hoh works.
HOHitis is a thing. Haley is a big control freak too so of course she would be one who thinks she has more power than she does.
