Big Brother 28 – “We Tried. She F* It Up For Herself.” *Updated*

Quick Big Brother Spoilers

Head of Household: Dee Nominees: Mallory, Taylor, Yash, AShley POV Players: Barrett, Melody, Dee, Mallory, Taylor, POV Winner: Mallory Veto Ceremony: AShley nominated Havenots: Chuk, Drew, Haley, Rick, Taylor

Taylor is now the target.

Drew listening during the 2:40 PM conversation with Melody, Barrett, and others about Ashley's information spreading through the house

2:20 PM (Angela/Jason): Angela pledges herself to Jason directly — “I am a number for you… I’m on your side” — and tells him she’d never let anyone treat him badly. Moments later, alone in a camera talk, she reveals it’s a play: “I think I did really good at convincing him. He thinks he’s got me wrapped around his finger. I freaking love it, this is so good.”

2:30 PM (Ashley/Mallory): Ashley pulls Mallory aside to “put her in the know” and ends up laying out the whole house map. She tells Mallory the house has split into two sides — and that Mallory is being seen as on the wrong one. Then she names the group keeping her: “So it’s Dee, Barrett, Angela, Drew, and then Kamu, Chuck, and Haley,” with Devens confirmed too. She frames the other side clearly: not Lala, not Taylor, not Jason, not Rome. Her pitch: ditch the “wait and see” approach and get on the majority before the vote strands her — “what’s happening, it’s coming to you and I want you in on it. Everybody’s being fake with you.” She singles out Drew as her most trusted: “Drew is like the number one… I absolutely trust Drew,” and specifically vouches for Angela too: “Angela is so trustworthy. She’s played this game.”

Mallory doesn’t hide how relieved she is: “I’m so fucking glad you told me this — I literally too was like, I don’t want Ashley to leave.” Ashley coaches her on playing it cool from here — act like she’d already been talking to people, let it come out naturally that she’s included rather than announcing it, and don’t tip that the info came from Ashley directly: “They could’ve just thought you were talking to Kamu.” Ashley frames it as a long game into Week 2, not just this vote — “you just need to commit.”

2:35 PM (Ashley/Melody): Ashley runs the same play with Melody, pushing her to drop the fence-sitting and join the side that’s rallied to keep her, telling her Drew is in on it.

2:40 PM (Melody/Drew/Barrett): Melody takes Ashley’s information straight to Drew and Barrett. They play dumb, calling themselves “the Inbetweeners” — just swing votes going with the majority. Melody isn’t fully buying it, warning Drew that if he’s promised both sides, it’s going to catch up with him.

Drew talking with houseguests at 3:06 PM inside the Big Brother house

2:45 PM (Drew/Kamu/Barrett): Word gets back to Drew that Ashley is running her mouth, and the plan starts to unravel. His original read is now confirmed: “This was literally my concern with Ashley — I just don’t know where her head’s at, and if she could be easily swayed.” He and Kamu land in the same spot — they were ready to bring her in, and she torched it herself. Drew: “We tried. She fucked it up for herself.” Kamu agrees.

Drew eating a banana while talking with Kamu and Haley about Ashley exposing the alliance's plan

2:48 PM (Drew/Haley): Drew recaps the mess for Haley — they’d privately promised Ashley safety and she immediately spread it around the house. Half-joking, Drew says part of him almost wants to vote her out now just for it. But the bottom line holds: they still want Taylor gone.

2:51 PM (Devens joins): Devens gets the recap and his reaction lands flat: “Jesus… Interesting.” The group agrees Ashley can’t be trusted to keep quiet, and that Dee should be the one to have a stern talk with Angela about staying calm. Haley volunteers to set it up. Devens’s name comes up as someone Melody may be eyeing as the house’s biggest threat.

2:53 PM (Devens out, Kamu in): The conversation shifts to the vote itself. Despite the frustration, Drew and Haley both still land on keeping Ashley for the numbers. Haley, bluntly: “I just really don’t think Ashley is that intelligent” — but she wants her to stay anyway. They read the house as two clear teams heading into the HOH.

3:50pm chit chat

4:20 PM (Lyric/Mallory, Storage Room): Lyric brings up how everyone’s commenting on her abs, then the mood shifts — both admit they’re anxious about their spots in the house. Lyric says she sometimes feels iced out and tells Mallory she’s the only person she trusts 100%: “Can we just stick together? Sometimes I feel left out, you know?” Mallory says she’s not feeling that, but validates Lyric as “sweet and bubbly.”

Lyric vents about Ashley getting under her skin that morning — Ashley told her she could hear her and Rome “canoodling” all night and asked if she was worried about her parents seeing it, which Lyric calls “kind of mean.” She’s also uneasy about how fast something she told only Mallory and Melody got around: “I haven’t told that to anybody except you and Melody — not even half an hour later” it was already out.

Mallory shifts to her own read on the house: she and Drew talked, and she trusts him more now, though she admits she’d been nervous about him since he’s not really on anyone’s radar and could be quietly working bigger alliances. She flags a pattern with Melody specifically — “this is the second time now” — suggesting Melody can’t be fully trusted with information. The two close the conversation reaffirming their bond: “You know it’s me and you until we die.”

4:25 PM (Melody/Mallory/Lyric, Storage Room): Melody breaks down what Ashley told her — that the other side (Devens, Angela, and the rest) already has the majority votes locked to keep Ashley, and that Ashley claims to have personally seen the numbers. But Melody isn’t sure she buys it, floating a theory: maybe Ashley’s playing both sides, and the other group fed her this info specifically so she’d relay it back and expose how many votes their side actually has. Lyric pushes back that Ashley only told them she has the votes — the “testing the split” read is Melody’s own theory, not something Ashley said outright.

The group agrees the safe move is to fall in line with the house “just in case.” Melody says she’s going to try to get more out of Kamu that night, having already talked some game with him. Lyric shares her own unease — Kamu talked about “throwing everything on the floor,” and something about it felt off to her.

Melody reasserts the group is solid — she says she told Barrett directly “you’re with us” and he confirmed it, though the others aren’t convinced (“Are you sure?”). Lyric contradicts this outright: she knows Barrett actually wants to keep Taylor, not Ashley.

On the vote itself: if it comes down to Yash and Taylor, they agree Yash goes home, no debate. Melody predicts the other side will actually target Taylor since she’s seen as tied to their group, with Yash viewed as more of a free agent. Lyric asks point-blank if Ashley is with the other side — Melody: “She is.”

Mallory pledges discretion — “everything you guys say to me, my mouth is shut” — but admits she’s looped Rome in a little, while stopping short of telling him everything since she’s not sure he’s trustworthy, especially with Devens circling him too. This triggers some friction in the room — someone pushes back asking why Mallory hasn’t been talking to them, and doesn’t fully believe her denial.

Lyric relays something odd from Kamu: he told her he’s “got Melody, Mallory, and Rome’s vote” locked, plus that he’s “good with Angela” — and he was already counting votes as if it were settled. Lyric says she doesn’t know where he’s getting that read from, since it doesn’t match what any of them actually committed.

The group agrees none of them fully trust Ashley. Mallory lays out the play: vote Ashley out. She’s suspicious that the other side claims to want to keep both Yash and Ashley — reads it as a trick to smoke out their numbers, since what she’s actually heard from Drew and Devens is that Ashley needs to go.

Before Melody comes in these two showmance a bit.

4:46 PM (Rome/Lyric/Melody): Rome catches Lyric and Melody up on where things actually stand — starting with who the other side thinks they have locked. “They think they have Drew,” he says. Lyric: “They don’t.” Rome: “I know. I think Drew’s playing a good job.” He’d talked to Drew directly and came away convinced.

Melody recounts her own pull from Ashley: “She’s like, okay, so come with me… and I was like, oh wow, thank you for telling me, like, whatever.” Her read is blunt: “So she’s definitely with them. So I don’t want to keep her.” Rome reassures her it’s not overthinking — if anything, being pulled aside means Ashley trusts her. The three land on the same conclusion without much debate: “So we need to get her the fuck out,” Melody says, and on the flip side, “we need to keep Taylor because that’s a for sure number for us.” Rome: “Taylor for sure.” They both agree Yash is the wildcard nobody’s pinned down — “he’s in between, nobody knows.”

Rome floats the idea of just watching the vote play out to see who’s really where: “I also think the funny thing would be to hear the votes — see how many votes Ashley gets, how many votes Yash or whoever gets.” Melody backs this with her read on the other side’s motive — they’re pushing hard to evict Ashley specifically so the house has to vote and reveal exactly who isn’t with them.

Then Rome drops the bigger reveal: “They also think they have Devins, too.” But according to Rome, Devens has told him privately, more than once, that he’s not actually with that group — he found early safety with the Have-Nots (which happened to include Chuk and Haley) but quickly realized “this isn’t where I wanna be,” and has said as much to Rome since their first real conversation. Rome pushed him on it directly earlier that day: “I want you to know, the stigma is, and the visual perception is, you are with that group.” Devens’s answer, per Rome: “Rome, I swear to you, if you need me to vote a certain way, I’ll vote a certain way.” Rome sums up Devens’s own framing of it: “I am not going to hitch my rope to a sinking ship.”

5-6pm Outside

Dee and Drew talking strategy in the HOH room at 6:24 PM

6:24 PM (Dee/Drew, HOH Room): Dee and Drew slip up to the HOH room for the most consequential conversation of the day — a full strategy session where the two of them essentially map out how they plan to quietly run the house together.

Dee opens on Ashley: “I think Ashley freaked out. Or she was too overconfident.” Drew fills in what he knows — “Ashley went and told the other side that she was safe” — and at first they agree the blowup doesn’t change the plan. Drew: “Exactly what we thought we were going to do. Keep Ashley… Ashley just proved that she’s not a good player.”

But talking it through, they flip. Keeping Ashley would expose their numbers to the whole house; cutting her keeps everyone guessing. Dee gets there first: “I’m super in for the idea of just getting rid of Ashley. Because I think she kind of just shot herself in the foot.” Drew agrees it beats “a fucking mess,” and reframes the entire disaster as a gift: “I hate that Ashley immediately fucked up, but I think blessing in disguise.” Dee puts a bow on it: “It’s like God telling us — fucking take her away. Just get rid of her.”

The bigger reveal is how openly they describe running things. The plan is a large alliance that works as cover while the two of them make the real calls — as Drew puts it, “you have a big alliance, and then we’re going to be the ones calling the shots… because we have majority decision-making.” The trick is making sure none of it looks coordinated. Drew’s ideal vote: “The perfect world is everybody votes the exact same way. It’s 15-0, and everyone is looking at everyone knowing there’s some shit that happened.” Dee doesn’t want fingerprints on it either: “I don’t want it to feel like we’re running it, like we’re making the shots. I want them to be like, yeah, Ashley should go.”

They even build in a fall guy. If their maneuvering ever gets sniffed out, Drew says, “no matter what happens, we put the blame on them” — the Red Corner — “because then everyone already doesn’t like them.”

Rome relaxing on the couch before Melody joins the storage room conversation with Lyric and Mallory

Then they run the eviction scenarios. If Yash comes off the block, the house piles on Ashley. If it’s Yash versus Ashley, Drew wants Ashley gone to keep their crossover safe — though Dee toys with cutting Yash instead: “a big dude, so he could win comps,” and “tight, tight with Rome.” Either way they circle back to the same spot. Dee: “for the five of us to keep us good, Ashley probably has to go.” She’s careful about her word to Taylor, though: “I already told Taylor, I’ll keep you no matter what.”

There’s housekeeping, too. They agree Angela needs managing — Dee: “we need to make sure that Angela doesn’t talk more than what she’s asked” — and Drew mentions he’s been quietly “riling up Haley and Chuck,” pushing the other side to burn energy chasing the next HOH. Dee also vents about a rumor that she and Barrett are a couple, which she traced straight back to Jason: “Haley comes up to me and goes, can I ask you a question — about you and Barrett… where’d you hear that from? She goes, Jason.”

Two names surface as future problems. Drew floats a theory that Rome deliberately engineered Ashley’s leak — sending Melody to relay the info specifically so their group would sour on Ashley and cut her themselves. One of them is skeptical Rome’s that calculating; the other insists, “Rome is extremely smart, he’s thinking every step of the way.” And Lyric lands on the radar through Devens, who grilled her on her alliances and got, per Dee, “six I-don’t-knows in a row” — enough that Devens told her “that’s a reason to put her up on the block.”

They agree to spread the Ashley plan quietly and let it look organic, keep “those three” newer additions out of the loop for now, and head back down.

They agree to spread the Ashley plan quietly, keep the newer additions out of the loop for now, and head back down.

Devens listens during his 8:06 PM backyard hammock conversation with Dee

8:05 PM (Dee/Devens, Backyard): Out at the hammock, Dee and Devens settle in for a whisper session that confirms what the feeds have hinted at all week — these two are quietly working together across enemy lines, each shielding the other while playing their own side of the house.

They open by comparing what Drew’s been telling each of them, and it’s clear neither fully trusts him — they see him as a source to mine, not a partner. Dee relays that per Drew, “Melody said that I’m, like, a huge target,” and notes how freely the information’s been flowing: “he’s giving so much information — probably thinks he’s giving it to us.” Devens frames the whole exchange plainly: “Just cross-checking.” When Ashley’s name comes up, Dee reads Melody as running a game on Devens: “she’s playing him. She’s always with the girls, but apparently she talks shit about Lyric and Mallory.” Devens traces that read back to Haley, and Dee immediately waves it off — “I can’t believe anything she said.”

The heart of the conversation is the secret alliance itself. Devens lays out exactly how their two-way shield works: “Rome feels like the two of us are not coming after him personally… we have secret relationships because we’re shielding each other.” But he’s clear-eyed that it only goes so far — “he’s not going to bring us into his thing, and doesn’t need us in his thing.” He admits their options are thin, too, putting an unusual amount of faith in Drew and Barrett: “we put a lot of trust in them, and I don’t know that we have a choice. I don’t know that we have anywhere else to go at the moment.” The one thing they’re confident about is that the house can’t read them: as Devens puts it, “everyone sees a split — the only thing they don’t see is where Drew and Barrett are.”

On the vote, Dee recaps the upstairs huddle with Drew, Barrett, and Angela where they’d chewed over whether Ashley’s even worth keeping. Her concern mirrors what Drew said hours earlier — that saving Ashley tips their hand: “is it worth even keeping Ashley, since she’s going around telling… it’ll show them where the numbers are.” She reads Ashley’s silence toward their side as damning, too: “I asked them upstairs, did Ashley talk to any of you? And she hasn’t — so that tells me she told probably all the girls and didn’t trust us.” As HOH holding a tiebreak but no regular vote, she stays deliberately hands-off: “I don’t know, what do you think? I’m not voting, so… I think you guys have to think about that.”

The rest is smaller reads on the house, and Dee doesn’t sugarcoat any of them. She recounts Chuk fishing for information and getting a blunt answer: “he goes, are you and Haley close? And I go, no, I hate her” — a line she stands behind, adding “it’s kind of true, I’m not gonna pretend that we’re cool.” On Haley generally, she’s done: “Haley lies to me. She lies to everybody.” Devens, meanwhile, keeps steering back to Rome’s tight little unit as the group to watch — flagging that Rome, Melody, and their orbit are “constantly together,” and that Melody is the one player who hasn’t been distracted by all the cool-kids noise. They wrap without locking anything new, comfortable that their cross-house cover is holding for now.

Where it stands: Dee is still HOH with Ashley, Taylor, and Yash on the block, and after a full day of scrambling the house has quietly converged on the same answer from opposite directions: Ashley is the one going. Her own campaigning did it — by walking Mallory and Melody through the entire alliance, she turned a plan to save her into proof she couldn’t be trusted, and both sides independently landed on cutting her loose.

What the evening feeds made clear is that the real power in the house isn’t the loud groups — it’s the quiet cross-house pairs. Dee and Drew are openly running things as a two-person operation, using a larger alliance as cover while making the actual calls themselves and planning to pin any blowback on the Red Corner. And Dee and Devens are doing the mirror image from the other side, secretly shielding each other while each plays their own half of the house — confident that nobody has figured out where they, Drew, or Barrett actually stand.

Taylor stays safe (Dee gave her word and intends to keep it), Yash remains the wildcard no one’s fully pinned. Angela looks far more in control than her paranoid edit suggests, deliberately playing Jason. And the next-week battle lines are already drawn: Dee wants Haley gone for stirring the pot, while Devens has quietly flagged Lyric as a nomination target. The vote heads into Thursday’s Blockbuster all but locked on Ashley — but with the entire house still blind to who’s really running it.

Active Alliances

  • The Crossovers — Dee, Devens, Angela, Barrett, Drew (real power is just Dee + Drew)
  • Dee/Devens secret pact — hidden even from the rest of the Crossovers
  • Devens/Drew secret pact
  • Dee/Barrett/Drew — Final 3 floater inside the Crossovers
  • Mama’s Angels — Jason, LaTrice, Rome
  • The Trio (“cool kids”) — Mallory, Melody, Lyric (not self-declared, but house treats as one)
  • Devens’ soft ties — LaTrice, Taylor, Rome as safety nets; Yash as disposable cover
  • Showmance — Rome & Lyric, LaTrice as their likely 3rd vote

Defunct / Dead

  • Hot Tub Alliance — Mallory, Drew, Barrett, Ashley, Lyric, Melody — fizzled once Ashley became the target
  • Court Jesters — Drew’s other alliance, low-confidence membership, largely a footnote now
  • “Final Four” pitch — Devens/Lyric/Drew/Melody — Devens himself called it a ploy
  • “Icons ‘n Rome” — Angela/Devens/Dee/Rome — absorbed into the Crossovers

Loose / Not a real alliance

  • Red Corner — scapegoat slang for the opposing side, not an actual group Dee/Devens run (despite what one AI sweep claimed)

WED VETO EPISODE
I was not near a device to play by play.
Quick mental notes:

Melody reaction to Mallory nom: 3 days. That is the length of time since they first met.
The method: sketch. The impulse: I don’t fault it. 3 days. I’d give someone an anvil and tell them it was a parachute after 3 days.

Angela d/r post Jason reveal. Did you watch bb26? When Angela is going to fake cry she cups her whole face and makes the noises. She then cups just the eyes hoping to slightly irritate her eyes to cause moisture. Then she squints with zero tears and zero snot bubbling that she is known for when she really cries. blush response, periorbital and periocular swelling all unchanged. It was faked. More d/r manufactured drama.

The veto: reminds me of bb20 when Hayleigh announced post d/r that she was asked what kind of comps she would be good at…. and those were the next 2 comps.

I would give Drew a better grade if he…. i dunno, had a backroom deal that he did NOT tell the Crossovers about. It would make him less of a stooge. Today’s feeds is a good reason why. Check his stress in being questioned if he was a ratfink? How can he correct when he has sold out ALL of his options. he is not a ratfloat game Andy type. He is a ratfink type who has zero sense of self interest.
Note Barrett is not getting the same level of ratfink edit. Interesting.

Chuk d/r extolling virtues of Lala. Sure skip the part where he pushed her as a renom. mkay.

D/R Inclusion total jumps: Dee finally caught Devins in d/r totals. Melody jumped from zero last episode to 11. Noms veto winner and HOH got top spots in episode with Melody getting more than / equal to veto winner. Jason rounds out the top 6 of the episode.
One question: what was up with the Haley d/r. That was…. I looked at it and asked myself if she had one of those face masks on because she looked like electricity just hit the table and someone shouted it’s alive in that particular shot. Attractive girl but…. not in THAT particular d/r. Came across as a low rent thug. Try for a ‘liiiiiiittle’ bit of warmth or human expression. yeeeesh.
Ashley is a good d/r voice in the old school way….but flubs in d/r with corrections remind us they are repeating canned lines or reading cue cards and d/r is no longer confessional in most cases. Clean that up a little bit.

Freezeray

Oh no. Angela’s barely hanging on. She is trying but she can’t change who she is. Kind of shocking BB put her back in for another season. I feel bad for her.

d...

yeah, i was pretty concerned for her mental health her first go round. was trying to be hopeful she’d gotten the help she needed, but was gonna be unsurprised if that wasn’t the case. the reality is for the first couple weeks she is worth playing nice with, but ultimately she’s more of a liability than an asset to any potential alliance and i figured she’d be targetted sooner rather than later.

Freezeray

I Agree. Some of these full grown adults whisper game is so good…(especially on this show with state-of-the-art mics), It truly blows my mind sometimes. It reminds me of eighth grade girls. But it’s also men many times!

Freezeray

Drew is playing a very similar game to Ashley‘s from last year (who won,for the few here who may be unfamiliar). Nope. He’s playing better. Very impressive for such a young person. So smart by locking in with Dee. I don’t understand his drag queen aspirations but I like this kid.

Freezeray

Dee has to be the “Vegas odds” favorite right now. Watching her handle people and navigate delicate topics and conversations…masterful. It’s early but to me other than Devens and now Drew she should run away with this. We all know anything can happen though.

d...

it’s week one. we need how she handles not being in power to call that, but her first hoh has been good.

The Beef

Why wouldn’t she be good? She’s played Survivor twice, won once, and did The Challenge once as well. It’s like throwing high school baseball players in against major leaguers when they bring back “icons” and have them play against newbies. The experience of the game play alone is enough to make a big difference, but when you throw in being on TV and everything that goes with that, it just gives the returners a huge advantage IMHO.

That’s why I feel if you’re going to bring any back, you should make them all returning players. And you damn sure don’t need to give them safety and a guaranteed first week HOH to further protect them from rookies who are already at a disadvantage.

Just my opinion.

Freezeray

100% agree. I didn’t want to seem biased but when she walked on the set, I immediately thought game over. She’s that good. That survivor 50 group was so smart to get her out of there. She’s treacherous in these games. Gotta love her.

JustMyOpinion

Hope Angela goes soon, she’s already been done on BB, annoying much ?
Malory, oy… that’s it: just oy.
