Big Brother 28’s second episode confirmed Dee Valladares as the season’s third returning houseguest and first Head of Household, after her team won the opening competition. Angela Murray’s squad — including Rome, Kamu, Mallory, and LaTrice — became the week’s Have-Nots despite Rome holding a safety win from the premiere.
A new recurring twist called the Time Capsule lets America vote one houseguest per week into a draw for powers or punishments from Big Brother history, running through the first six weeks. Dee now faces nominating three of thirteen eligible newbies, with a fourth potentially joining the block if a veto is used.
The December 20, 2023 tease from the premiere paid off exactly the way everyone expected. That’s the night Dee won Survivor 45, and Unlocked made it official: Dee Valladares is the 17th houseguest and the third returning star, taking the spot the show pretended belonged to Rachel. CBS finally put out her cast intro to match.
So the vet lineup is locked: Angela Murray (BB26), Rick Devens (Survivor), and Dee. Two Survivor players, one Big Brother alum, fourteen newbies who have no idea what’s about to hit them.

Unlocked also unveiled this season’s recurring fan-vote twist. Every week, America votes one houseguest into the Time Capsule. Whoever gets sent in walks out with either a power or a punishment pulled from Big Brother history — and no houseguest can take the trip more than once. The vote runs through the first six weeks.
So it’s basically a weekly game of “do we love you or do we hate you,” decided by the audience, with 27 seasons’ worth of blessings and curses in the prize pool. The strategic wrinkle is obvious: being popular with viewers just became a game resource, and being annoying on the feeds now has a delivery mechanism for consequences.
They start the Head of household and the show ends.. Lucky for us the feeds are turned on.
Sounds like it was timed comp: fastest squad crowns their vet HOH, and every member of the slowest squad becomes a Have-Not for the week.
Dee’s team won, making her the first Head of Household of BB28 — a Survivor winner holding Big Brother power in her first week in the house.
And the slop bill went to Angela’s crew. That’s Angela, Rome, Kamu, Mallory, and LaTrice all starting the season as Have-Nots. Brutal detail in there: Rome won safety on night one and still ends up on slop — safe from the block, not safe from the cold showers.

- Nominations: TBD — remember, Dee has to name THREE nominees this season, with a fourth joining the block if a veto gets used

- The catch: the BB Blockbuster is back, so only one of the three nominees is actually guaranteed to walk out the door
Dee’s got a rough math problem for someone three days into meeting these people: three of the thirteen eligible newbies have to go up, and she barely knows which of them can be trusted, which are comp threats, and which are already whispering about the vets. The nomination fallout should hit the feeds fast, and Sunday’s episode is another 90-minute one.

Ashley, Drew and Kamu are outside talking about wanting to get picked to play for the. Haley sounds pissed that someone said she crumpled under pressure. She wants to prove them wrong in the Veto. In the kitchen Angela is talking about cheesecake factory.
7:17 pm The group outside has gained Mallory and Melody. They are talking about MySpace. Kamu goes on about how awesome it was.
7:21 pm Taylor and Jason. Taylor is telling him about when she went up to the HOH to talk to Dee. Dee told her she’s putting up one person from each team on the HOH. . Taylor confirms she’s on the block. Jason points out that Ashley was “Pressed” at first by Dee winning but then she got comfortable. (Taylor has a beef with AShley)
Taylor says Dee is going to tell the house that Mallory is the target.

- Rome – Haley has been flirting with me big time she says I am so her type
- Lyric – Go for it.
- Rome – I’m telling you that so there are no secrete between us

- Rome – She’s trying to do everything to get in my good graces now.

General feeling:
Yash tried to teach Leigh (his name for Dee) how to HOH and now he is on the block.
Mallory is upset Kamu wasn’t nominated so Dee must be working with him. Further feeling that Mallory Melissa and Lyric are a trio (but Mallory is the bottom of the trio).
Angela says Barrett is her new bestie (anyone knowing how many besties she effed over her first go round…. run Barrett).
Rome doesn’t want to win veto because he doesn’t want to look like a comp beast. It is day…5? something like that. Slow your roll notkyle.
LaTrice insists she is not Felicia as she preps to cook dinner for the house.
Suspicions:
If Dee plays Big Brother like i’ve been told she played survivor and challenge…. she’s on the hunt for a mance while insisting she isn’t wink wink nudge nudge.
I suspect it might be Rick’s team that came in last and is now have not. Angela seems too happy to be a have not.
mallory seems the type that is so desperate to be friends that she is easily taken advantage of. i think dee sees that as a liability with a potential melissa/lyric/mallory trio and just wants to isolate mallory early.
Dee definitely did some serious “hooking up” when she was on The Challenge. I don’t remember if she did any of that in Survivor 45, and I know she didn’t in 50 (meaning she wasn’t edited to have a romantic interest at least). But on The Challenge her first fling got severely jealous when she decided to dump him and try another guy out in the house. My guess though is she’s too serious about trying to win the $$$$, than to risk that on some showmance with a rookie. My guess is she’ll work closely with Devens, given they’ve both played Survivor multiple times, and know each other well.

I didn’t think Taylor would be a nom on the first week, but I’m shocked Mallory is OTB.
I’ll need to see what happened on Sunday’s show and put the pieces together on the Live Feeds this weekend.
But I’m glad La Trice and Barrett are safe right now.
mallory’s vibe is terrible. you don’t want to look smart in the bb house, and while i think her social awkwardness should’ve kept her safe, the glasses and terrible posture aren’t helping.
i am somewhat surprised by the taylor nom, she seemed more socially savvy to me.
i kinda figured melody for a pretty early nom as she zeroed in pretty quickly on making enemies instead of friends.
I thought for sure Melody was going OTB after she mentioned in her pre-season interview that she hated Angela on BB26.
how much do i have to watch the friday shows? i really want to avoid taylor hale as much as i possibly can. absolutely LOATHE her, and have no interest in wasting time listening to her voice or anything she has to say.

It seems like at least the first episode this year was pretty essential. I actually loved Taylor’s season, but don’t think hosting the after show is her thing. At least not if they are going to have her there every year. Give me Rachel, Janelle, Dr Will, Zach Rance, Cory and America, Felicia, we’ve got a lot of good options.
