What Time Is Big Brother On Tonight?

Big Brother airs three nights a week on CBS — Sunday, Wednesday and Thursday at 8/7c. Thursday is the live eviction. Sunday is the Head of Household competition and nominations. Wednesday is the veto, and it runs ninety minutes rather than sixty.

  • Nights: Sunday, Wednesday, Thursday.
  • Time: 8:00 p.m. Eastern and 8:00 p.m. Pacific — the Pacific broadcast is tape-delayed, not simulcast. 7:00 p.m. Central and Mountain.
  • Live eviction: Thursday.
  • Episode lengths: Sunday 60 minutes, Wednesday 90, Thursday 60.
  • Streaming: live on Paramount+ with a Premium plan, next-day on demand for everyone else.
  • Watch out for: football, award shows and double evictions all move the start time.

What time is Big Brother on tonight?

Big Brother airs at 8:00 p.m. Eastern and 8:00 p.m. Pacific on Sundays, Wednesdays and Thursdays during the season. Central and Mountain viewers get it at 7:00.

The Pacific listing catches people out. CBS does not simulcast Big Brother to the west coast — it airs at 8:00 p.m. local time in both zones, three hours apart in real time. That is why Thursday’s “live” eviction has already happened by the time the west coast sees it, and why feed watchers on the Pacific side already know the result.

Any night that is not a Sunday, Wednesday or Thursday, there is no episode. During the off-season there are no episodes at all — the show runs roughly July to early October.

What happens on each night?

  • Sunday — 60 minutes. The Head of Household competition and the nomination ceremony. The week is set up here.
  • Wednesday — 90 minutes. The Power of Veto competition and the veto ceremony. The longest episode of the week, and usually the one where the week actually turns.
  • Thursday — 60 minutes. The live eviction, the interview with the evicted houseguest, and a tease of the next Head of Household competition.

Everything on Sunday and Wednesday is edited from footage that is already several days old. By the time an episode airs, the house has moved on — which is the entire reason the live feeds exist.

Where can you stream Big Brother?

  • Live, as it airs: CBS on television, or Paramount+ with a Premium plan.
  • Next day: Paramount+ on any plan, including the cheaper one. Episodes appear the day after broadcast.
  • Big Brother: Unlocked: the companion show, Fridays at 8/7c, same streaming arrangement.

The live feeds are a separate thing from the episodes. Those run around the clock rather than three nights a week, and they show what the broadcast has not got to yet.

Why the start time keeps moving

Big Brother’s start time moves because it airs on a network with football and award shows on it, in the months when both are running. Four things reliably shift it:

  • NFL overruns. A Sunday afternoon game running long pushes everything after it back, usually by thirty minutes but sometimes more. This is the single most common cause of a delayed episode.
  • Award shows. A live event on the same network takes the slot and Big Brother moves later in the night.
  • Other premieres. When a bigger show launches in September, Big Brother gets pushed — sometimes as late as 10:00 p.m.
  • Double eviction weeks. These expand rather than move. One or both midweek episodes stretch to ninety or a hundred and twenty minutes to fit two evictions.

Thursday is the most protected night of the three, because the eviction is live and cannot easily be moved. Sunday is the least protected, because it sits behind the football.

If your recording cut off before the end, this is almost always why. A delayed start does not shift the recording window, so the last few minutes get lost — and on a Thursday those minutes are the eviction.

Big Brother 28 — the changes announced so far

  • Sunday 13 September — 8:30 p.m. Half an hour late, behind football.
  • Wednesday 16 and Thursday 17 September — two hours each. Double eviction week, pushing the house to a final five.
  • Wednesday 23 September — 10:00 p.m. Two hours late, behind another premiere.
  • Sunday 27 September — 9:30 p.m. Ninety minutes late, behind an award show.
  • Thursday 1 October — the finale, 8/7c, ninety minutes.

Three delayed Sundays and Wednesdays in a single month is on the high side, but the pattern is normal for September — that is when the network’s autumn schedule starts colliding with a summer show that has not finished yet.

When is the Big Brother finale?

The Big Brother finale lands in late September or early October, and it is the one night of the season that does not follow the ordinary schedule.

Big Brother 28 finishes on Thursday 1 October 2026, at 8/7c, running ninety minutes.

The pattern behind that is worth knowing, because it holds from season to season. The finale is a Thursday, like every eviction night. It is ninety minutes rather than sixty, the same as the premiere. And it falls roughly twelve to thirteen weeks after the July premiere, which puts it in the last week of September or the first week of October.

What happens on the night: the final Head of Household competition finishes, the last eviction sends the third-place houseguest to the jury, the jury questions the final two, and the votes are read live. The winner is announced at the end of the broadcast, not before.

The live feeds usually end that morning, hours before the broadcast. If you have followed a season on the feeds, finale night is the first time in three months that the television show knows something you do not.

When does the season start and finish?

Big Brother is a summer show. Recent seasons have premiered in early to mid July and finished in late September or early October, running roughly twelve to thirteen weeks.

The premiere is usually ninety minutes rather than sixty, and so is the finale. Between them the three-night pattern holds, and it has held since Big Brother 23.

The live feeds do not start on premiere night. They switch on a day or two afterwards, once the house has moved in.
