“DJ Mingle Mixx started out as a dancer (1991) for a Bay area rap group known as De’Monae , “Of Money”. Though they didn’t make a lot of money, they did rock shows all over the tri-city area of Tampa/Clearwater/St Pete, as headliners, opening acts, and talent show winners. Copies of “Bass for your Face”, their debut album, can still be found in circulation in some old tape decks. The group spent endless hours in the studio creating the never-released “2 Phat 2 Drive”, an underground classic (available on this site).
Back then Mingle was known as TS –The $hit– and soon evolved into the group’s hype man, Flavor Flav being his hype man idol. After a few years TS changed his name to Mingle Mixx: Mingle cause he was single, and of course, he loved to mix. He added emcee to his list of talents in the mid-90’s, rapping on albums by Boyz wit the Bass and T-Quest World Famous. ”
