Big Brother 10 Spoilers - Libra about her neighborhood, “we don’t fit in because we’re more attractive”
11:00am Backyard Keesha and Libra. Still talking………. Libra says in a way Keesha is lucky because she got HOH and got two enemies out before jury. If you get HOH and evict someone and they’re angry with you, it will cost you jury votes, “thats what makes the game so hard right now”. Keesha says when the house divided on one side there us the other side its April and Ollie and the only people who talk to them are Jerry and Michelle. Libra thinks wither Jerry or April will be gone next week. They both agree that April got too arrogant once she won HOH. Keesha says she tried to make amends with April but they won’t ever get along, it’s just their personalities. They both say that early in the game they both liked Ollie but do not feel the same way about him anymore because of his association with April. Keesha says they put her up against Libra because they were afraid she would be a vote for her. Libra says its just like last season, with Ryan and Jen, she went out early. She thinks Ryan had a good chance at winning, but because they didn’t like Jen, they didn’t want him to have the money. This is the same thing between Ollie and April.
Talk goes back to how rich and powerful Libra is…… she says even though she lives in the burbs, she’s not the normal suburban mom, she has more style. Libra says her section is called Dove Manor, because of the price of their house, a lot of the people are older. She said her and her friends don’t fit in because they are more attractive and having a husband who is Caucasian, “people have a problem with that”. Keesha says people tease her cause she’s white and has a “black” persons name. She says she grew up in an all white school, but it didn’t affect how she feels about other races. Keesha can’t believe that making people go to the back of the bus even existed, She can’t stand movies about prejudice. She tells a story about her first experience with racism, when her parents took her on vacation to Tennessee. Libra says, even in the black society, the lighter your skin the better. They both say they don’t understand how anybody can look at a person’s skin color and judge them. Libra “if they can make people feel inferior it can make them feel better”. Libra starts to tear up saying as a child she didn’t have much her grandparents worked hard to help her mom, who was trying to break into the mortgage banking business.
12:10pm - 1:50pm hippie room Keesha and Renny. They are talking about factors that affect your success in the game. Kessha says luck has a lot to do with it. They both are complaining about how sluggish they feel from having to wake up early today. Libra joins them and complements Renny on her makeup. Renny says she has aged since she’s been in the house, Keesha agrees. Libra says have you looked at April today? shes all puffy around the eyes. They are wondering why they were woken up so early this morning… Libra thinks it was because of the Diary Sessions. Keesah says she’ll need botox after the show to get rid of all the worry wrinkles.
Not much going on Houseguests all really tired from the early start. Memphis and Dan in pool, Ollie and Jerry outside working out, Michelle, April,and Keesha tanning and Libra in the bedroom sleeping.

Trev, Libra is black I have this conversation with my white friends all of the time we don’t wash our hair as much as white people it’s damaging to our hair there is a huge difference in allot of things between white people and black people if you don’t know don’t say Eww it’s just how it is with us we don’t get lice our hair absorbs the moisture and the ,dirt it grows better and Libra washed her hair after she relaxed it the previous night she said she goes to the salon every 4 to 6 weeks and let the salon wash it and handle i,t same here for me it’s not gross if you are a black person.
To Trev: Just because her hair is not straight does not give you the right to talk about her in a derogatory way. I’m tired of uneducated trash like you on these blogs. I don’t believe I ever said “she doesn’t wash her hair because she’s black” nor did I say “she has nappy hair because she is black” so you probably learn to read first before saying I’m being “derogatory” or “uneducation” (lol, you should take your own advice there…) So learn to read thoroughly (or in your case, take some English comprehension classes) before you make any more blasphemous remarks again.
And sorry, but every time she takes a shower she always wears a shower cap. I have yet to see her wash her hair. Black, White, Hispanic, Italian, Chinese, I don’t care who you are, that’s nasty to me.
Daneen, I appreciate the information, at least you are level headed and are trying to educate others. But again, I didn’t type “black” anywhere in what I wrote. Everyone of every race can have nappy hair. I was simply making an observation, and I don’t believe I was wrong in my observation.

Comments like this show a person’s true depth. First of all, making fun of Libra’s hair in that manner is inappropriate and secondly, asking God to strike her down for it is just plain ridiculous. Trev - Most people associate ‘nappy’ hair with being black. So I can see why one would say that the comment was racist. I don’t personally find the term offensive because nappy hair is beautiful to me, and most of my black friends have taken what used to be a derogatory term and turned it into a positive because they also recognize the beauty in what is naturally theirs.
I’m sorry for offending any of you. I lost my job, my boyfriend and I don’t have a car. There is no reason for you to take blame for that.

I have to say that calling her hair nappy is slightly racially stemmed, rather you meant in that way or not. I personally didn’t take offense to it but It is a racially biased word (not racist, but racially), when one says nappy it generally means hair having the texture that is characteristic of blacks. While outlandish hateful remarks are unnecessary responses to your remark, some sort of explanation/ clarification is warranted (via Daneen). Therefore I will also take that route and explain that washing your hair everyday is a common practice for those other than blacks, to keep moisture and oils out. However, our hair needs the oils and etc. that others work hard to keep out of their hair. If you have ever seen a person’s weave that looks dry and brittle and basically disgusting, ironically that is similar to how our hair will look if we wash it everyday or don;t replenish the oils after washing. There are about 10 different subtypes of black hair that one can have, and while there are some that require less frequent washing, I wash mine once a week, sometimes every two weeks. I believe this to be a common practice. While 4-6 weeks is pretty extreme for me to hear I do know of people who do this and whose hair requires this. It doesn’t mean their hair is nasty, I’m sure if it starts to pick up a stench they would wash it lol. Aside from all that real world nonsense, getting closer to the game talk, Libra actually did wash her hair maybe a day or two ago, so comment is kinda of null and void. I think the point she was trying to make is she lives in a neighborhood with predominantly elderly white folk, we all know that old age doesn’t exactly put a spotlight on the beauty one has in youth, so in all actuality her and her friends probably are more attractive than the 75+ folk in her neighborhood. (compare memphis and jerry, heck even JESSIE and jerry). and Trev I don’t think you were wrong in your opinion, because it was and “opinion” but I do think you were wrong to think that there may not a twing of duality in the remark.

I’m married to a physician and over 95% of white people have or have had LICE in their hair and black people practically NEVER have lice. Why Black Women Don’t Wash Their Hair As Often As White Women
I just want people to know that black people and white people have DIFFERENT hair types. White people have hair that tends to get oily quickly; weighing it down and making their scalps dirty within a few days. (as told by hair dressers, etc.) Black people have hair that doesn’t get oily as fast… in fact they tend to use oil products in their hair. The reason for this is because they tend to have dry scalps; their hair absorbs moisture, thus drying it out. If it is too dry it will break off easily. So with this said they do not need to wash their hair as often as white people. Washing it every few days will only make it dryer and dryer and in the end damage it. Black people (as recommended by professionals) should wash their hair every 5-10 days… most like to just hit the two-week mark. By the way, because it hasn’t been washed any time sooner does not mean they are walking around with dirty hair… it takes a longer time for their hair to get oily, thus a longer time for it to be as dirty as a white person’s hair just after a few days (unless they use MORE THAN ENOUGH oil sheen)
This is something that most don’t understand. If you can discuss among friends and clear the issue up we will have less people thinking a person, in this case a black woman is walking around with NASTY hair and should be struck by lightening by God for it. It’s the only way to stop this stupidity.
